hello, i just wanted to check in with you folks and find out if this little performance issue that i have with ToEE is experienced by anyone else. basically, what happens is, in combat, if i move my mouse pointer to an area that is not "walkable" to, then the game will lag horrendously (every time i move the mouse, the animations will actually freeze until i stop moving the mouse again). for instance, in a corridor with the exit room blocked by monsters in the doorway, if i mouse over to enemies inside the room, the game will lag. i suspect it has something to do with the game trying to calculate the amount of "time" on the action meter a character will have, only it gets confused since my characters can't actually move into the area the mouse is over. if anyone else has this problem and perhaps knows of a fix, i'd be grateful to find out what it is. if this isn't a "normal" bug, any idea why my game acts like this? i'd love for a smoother ToEE experience. thanks!
yah, it's common...clean your Windows and defrag, do NOT overdrive/overclock your computer hardware, free up some resources by turning off antivirus and other active software, search the Internet for the ToEE no-cd patch, a better video card and driver, maybe more memory or better processor Normally, you can improve it, but most likely it won't be entirely eliminated. You should at least be able to reduce lag and improve game play.
