Am I looking at this right? It appears as though something's a bit wonky with my Monk's Tripping attempts: Trip Attack Maju against Ogre Chief Attacker +7 Str Bonus +4 Feat Improved Trip +11 Total Roll 1+11 = 12 VS 26 Attempt Fails ( NOTE - ignore the fact that the monk rolled a "1" in this example - I'm seeing the same thing with other rolls ) Clicking on "26": Ogre Chief defends against Maju Attacker +13 Dex bonus +4 Size bonus +17 Total Roll 9+17=26 vs 12 Attempt Fails It looks like the Ogre is getting the Monk's Dex bonus for its defense? Same thing happens when trying to trip Skeletons. Thanks in advance - Tomtheeasilyconfusedfighter Side note: game.party[0].condition_add_with_args('Power Attack',0,0) game.party[0].condition_add_with_args('Cleave',0,0) Successfully adds the feats to one character.
Interesting. I just tested this for a while with those nasty tripping bugbears on level 3 of the temple. It seems that when trying to trip them, and the monster computes his opposed check (Strength or Dexterity, whichever is greater), they are using the ATTACKERS Dexterity value on their check. I'll search the other threads and see if this is a known issue - I'm sure it's come up before. (EDIT: Here is the thread already discussing this issue - http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10922&highlight=trip+dexterity) Maybe it's karma for modding up your Monks dexterity to 36.
Hah! That's hilarious! I forgot that I'd participated in that thread! I know my brain ain't firing on all four cylinders but ghessh that's embarrassing! Could be - karma, like physics, is a stone bitch - although in the Monk's defense she is the only party member Thanks for taking the time to dig that info up, I appreciate it.
