First post here, hello all Anyhow, I'm wondering which, if any, NPCs are the most "entertaining" to have in your party, a'la the old Baldur's Gate NPCs. So far, there doesn't seem to be much interaction - just Elmo bellowing anytime a bar is entered, and Melany squealing excitedly upon entering new areas. Is that it? Or does the interesting stuff kick in later? Or am I missing the "fun" NPCs? Or should I just stick with a mostly or all PC part? Thanks in advance for any advice!
Welcome! There's not nearly as much NPC interaction in this game as there is in Baldur's Gate. In general I find the NPCs rather disappointing and usually leave them be. There are some good interactions though, one that sticks out to me comes up if you have Fruella and Elmo in the same party - they rag on each other quite a bit and it's one of the funniest things in the game. Other NPC's that are a bit more "fleshed-out" are Zaxis (actually has a semi-quest to find his sister that can be completed - it's not in the logbook though iirc) and Ronald (ironically a Co8 created NPC.)
I appreciate the heads up! That's kind of what I thought. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing out on anything Guess I'll put a party together with Ronald, and keep an eye out and a spot open for Zaxis, and not worry about the others then. Thanks again.
I always take Meleny and Spugnoir with me. They are not that good NPCs, but I need their crafting and support spells. In Mel’s case I have no choice, since I believe in true love at first sight.
Just started a new game. Pishella is kinda fun but I am a bit concerned - she is the magic shop and if I get her do I lose access to the shop? EDIT: Nevermind, the apprentice who sells stuff is apparently not Pishella... boy is my face red.
''All I wanted to do... was to retire... someplace......nice'' The first time I heard that line (about 5 years ago during the Temple Broken Tower battle. I think Furnok took a morningstar to the face while prone), it broke my heart just a little. That was just the voice acting though. Sadly there are few NPCs with fleshed out personalities that I have witnessed (but I haven't tried Elmo + Fruella nor ROnald) I really enjoy NPCs with a backstory. When I get more time to look into modding ToEE I plan of having some nice 'meaty' NPCs to play around with.
I would have loved inter-party banter akin to Wizardry 8. That would have been awesome, but alas it wasn't to be.
i love elmo and furllia <SP> shes a great fighter btw, give her a second hand axe and shell rip through anything and its great to see her revelation if she ever dies! if put her in suicidal encounters just to hear her say it!
