    Hi.

I decided to reinstall TOEE yesterday because I was having trouble playing the Desperate Housewives quest. When I attempted to reinstall I receive an error (after putting in the second disk) that says "data3.cab: cyclic redundancy check".

I've gone through all of the faqs on the boards and tried every uninstall walkthrough that I can find, but I still get the same error message.

    Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Hmm... it seems like there's a possibility that the file you mentioned (data3.cab) got corrupt. It could happen because: a) the CD got dirty; b) the CD got scratched too much; c) there's a problem with your CD/DVD drive. Could be something else as well, but these are the first reasons that come to mind. Try cleaning your ToEE CD 2 and installing again.

That actually happened to me about a week ago also. I found the solution on www.walmart.com. $9.99 + about $2.00 shipping solved the problem.

I have seen up to 3 copies of the jewel case version of ToEE in-store and on the shelf at a couple of Walmart stores for 10 dollars each.

Well, I finally had to time to come back and read the thread. I didn't see any visible scratches, but I cleaned the disk, put it in my other drive, and everything loaded up. The movies cause a crash now (which never happened before) but I turned them off in front end and everything seems to be OK.

    Thanks!
