I had a idea for protos numbers, if we all say what numbers we are using or want to use and each of us use a different set then it'd be easier to make them all join up, just a bit of cut here paste there and you're done, no renumbering.
this is good only for small changes. what when I'll have to fix skill points, saving throws, feats, and a lot of other parameters for monsters?
well for my stuff I need about 15 numbers in the weapons part and about 5 in the armours, unless I get a real long order list then I need more in the armour. btw my mods are for looks and pretty much nothing else (if you count new items as looks) they don't change anything (well the hair) just add to it.
new enties for the protos file go accross the board, new items, monsters, npc's name it we need it espacially if we get the higher level spells and new maps.
just thought that if I had 20 or so numbers that I knew weren't going to be used by anyone else I could get on with modding and not worry about double ups later especially if you lot all knew I was using those numbers.
All I can suggest is - make your changes, copy the additions into a notepad document and save it, then if someone uses your lines you can re-number them and paste them in later (bear in mind liv's 2.0 could be around at any time). I'm not changing anything in protos until it arrives anyway.
just be careful, Liv' is using the larger numbers too, try leaving a 200 number gap between all others and your new ones, just to be on the safe side.
Yeah its a great idea. I haven't added anything to the protos (yet) but be aware I am using gameflags 670-699, variables 670-699, and scripts 00280 - 00299. They're MINE. MINE u hear me?!?!? Bwahahahahaaaaa!!! :goatee:
