A big thank you for the ToEE Front End! Hiza! I just wanted to thank all who created the Front End to ToEE! It has totally changed the game for me, and has made it infinitely more enjoyable! A big thank you for all the Custom Content! Cheers, WebShaman
Watch out for naming topics this way, especially in general discussion. At first I thought it was spam. Currently the forums are being overrun by spam bots. Anyway I'm sure the guys at Co8 will be happy to hear you like the mod.
Ok, I changed the title - better? Thbis thread brought to you from the n00b-b0t! :yikes: It is an incredible modification, and does incredible things with the game. Great stuff!
Thanks for checking out our modifications, WebShaman! I'm glad you enjoyed our content! Welcome to our community! I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay. - Agetian
Hehe...well, if you would have heard me cursing from the difficulty at the beginning levels... :censored: But I got better... :cool2: Actually, the beginning levels are tough, because one Crit can kill a character dead (happened often enough). Good thing that the Quicksave is that - quick. I am really astounded by what you peeps have done. Having lots of fun with the game, now.
You should not use quicksave, as in never and not. uhm - Seriously, instead, it's called do a manual save and do it often (like after every fight). Otherwise, you'll find yourself back to being mad and cussing while having to control your temper to keep from wanting to throw something at the monitor screen when you experience a corrupted saved game (cannot be repaired).
Never use quick saves. They will screw up your game. You may not have noticed this yet because you are so new to playing it; but trust us...better to learn of it now than 3 levels from now, and have to start all over.
Finally, when I play an entire game of ToEE to completion, I typically have between 8 and 12 saved games from the progression of playing the game. Every major juncture in the game has a saved game associated with it.
One more n00ber question (since I am enjoying my n00b status, might as well make the best use out of it! ) Concerning the Download section, there is other content there. Is it included in the Final FE 5.0 or do I have to additionally Download it? And what exactly is available for DL - I see references to Desperate Housewives, etc, but I see no place to DL it - am I blind?
If you read the documentation that comes with 5.0.0 you will see that Desperate Housewives is included as an optional component of 5.0.0. There are a few independent mods (Vicks & Wedge, 0rion's) that are not incorporated with 5.0.0, but mostly everything available is in 5.0.0 and it's patch, 5.0.3 (except for some really new stuff that just hasn't made it in yet.
Thank you very much for the reply! Ok, so all I need to do is to install the content from those two, then, right? Then I have everything.
No. You definitely don't want to try to merge Orion's mod or Vicks & Wedge with the Co8 modpack. They are stand-alone mods, which means that if you want to use them you should install them overtop a clean ToEE (game and Atari patches only). If you're using the Front End, there are prepackaged versions of those two mods that you can find here. Whether or not you should actually use these mods is another matter entirely. Orion's mod is of dubious quality and stability (the part he supplied anyway), by most accounts. Vicks & Wedge is a munchkin mod. Also you're terminology sounds a little mixed up. There is no 'Final FE 5.0.' If by that you mean the Co8 5.0.0 FINAL mod, then you're good to go. 'FE' (by this I assume you mean 'Front End') is Agetian's program that allows you to run multiple modules within the same game installation. It is not the mod itself.
