How high do I need to get my reps up in order to help the smth out.. I pretty much done everything I can think of to get those reps.. but he doesnt seem to allow me help him out...
The blacksmith will have a fairly predictable quest later - something you can do that will result in him selling you masterwork weapons. So predictable it practically wrote itself, right up until the point I didn't include it. Its not in the Demo, sorry.
