In Protos.tab: edit HELM_TYPE_SMALL to HELM_TYPE_MEDIUM (if you use HELM_TYPE_LARGE the hood disappears aswell, but the character goes bald ) and the hood will disappear even if you wear circlets. Then try a paladin with full plate armor, a red cloak and a circlet I found this thread recently and would love to try it out. The problem is I don't understand how to implement it as this is my first time trying to mod the game. I know where the proto.tab folder is located and that you can open it with notepad. That is the extend of my knowledge. Could someone kindly guide me thru the process please if possible. Any help would be appreciated.
Go to the bottom "stickied thread" on this page, (I think it's called 'basic modding tutorial' or something) it has a link to Phalzyr's editor, downoad, install and open the program, select protos, tab and wait while it loads. column #2 is the name of the item from "description.mes" from the mes folder. just find the item you want to change by the name in this column, highlight it (right click on the number of the item) and follow the row accross untill you find what you want to change, I can give a more detailed explanation later if you need more help, but I don't think you'll need it. I use Phalzyr's editor to change things, and notepad to copy entire lines only.
I do all my hacking in Notepad, except protos.tab of course, and then use Phalzyr's ed to make sure it all looks right ;-) Dunno why i felt the need to say that, but i did.
