I searched all over the forum but haven't found anything about crashes and hickory branch. Currently using Co8 5.5.0, with atari patch 2 on windows XP-SP2. My game crashes with an error every time I try to travel to Hickory Branch on the world map. I had previously visited there, killed some of the stuff, and traveled back to hommlet to sell some loot, but then every time I tried to get back to HB, I got the crash. Hickory Branch worked fine the last two playthroughs, and nothing about my install has changed, and I haven't used the console to fiddle with anything. Anyone else have this issue, and if so, any fix for it? Thanks! Edit: Found a post by GuardianAngel that said something about looting a kobold. I didn't notice anything, but I definately looted everything. Now to pick through my saves and see if there is one far enough back to continue without looting that one If that is indeed the problem.
That was definitely my problem. Now I don't loot that particular kobold, and I have no problems. It is at the north end of the gully. If you are not sure, just save before you loot. One of the clues is that when you click "take all", there is still stuff in the kobold's inventory. Good luck! :thumbsup:
