help with smigmal redhand fight

    hi i just bought ToEE about a week ago and im having a problem with the smigmal redhand fight. when i go in the second time and the fight begins i cant see her sprite and i cant attack her with any of my party members, but if i use summon spells or figurines then they attack her and damage her. if any body could please help me out if would be most appreciated. thanks.

    If you can't see her, then she must be...unseeable. Is there another word for this? In-credible, isn't it, that you can't visualize her well enough to be able to win. Try using some type of spell to see if it helps you defeating her.

    You can still target her by her portrait. After killing her, you will have to wait 24h to loot her items. There is a nice blue elven chainmail with a few other items I believe.

    the first time I encounted her I took great pains to knock her out with nonlethal damage, steal her equipment and be on my merry little way. I didn't even have her talk (I think my monk pounded her into the ground to quick), I can't think why I wanted to fight her like that, but it ment that when I came back she didn't last long because of AoOs as she now unarmed and unarmoured (I assume as I couldn't see her) and dealing nonlethal damage to my guys. It wasn't till another run through that I found out that she trys to blame it on a witch or something.

    Oh, well...I suppose you do miss a lot in the game when you kill people too swiftly. This bug never became manifest in one of my little bleeding frenzies.

    Ya know...the portrait deal smacks of an exploit. You'd have to have some sort of indication of where the foe was to even get a chance to engage, albeit at a penalty. So, if she's after you, you get to attack her. If she's making a stealthy getaway, the chances would be much reduced if you're attacking her.

    She was indeed using her thingy, but it becomes bugged for memory.

    I think I told u over at Atari once how she gave me the "I've been kidnapped" line and I bought it hook line and sinker. Its a wonder she didn't pick my pockets on the way out or ask me for 1000gp like those other wenches. I'm a sucker for damsels in distress i tells ya :sadblinky I bet that Meleny is robbing me blind, must check her inventory...

    Edit: we get around it by targetting by portrait! Thats right... :thumbsup:

    Curious...the wench never bothered to talk to ME! The moment I open the door she wants to show her skill at hair-styling with her 'custom' razor.
    Ah well...
