Hmm i've just killed hedrack and Iuz and all that (btw Iuz was really easy) and i took the items off of hedrack. I went to the shops and got them id'd yet my knowledge about the non trivial ones didn't increase one bit. Knowing that the boots are magical and called hedrack's is nice but it hardly gives any hint at the fact they increase reflex saving throw as i found in the protos same for the gloves and the helmet which are +6 strength +5 will save in order. Could there maybe be added the shift click description for them? If I understand it right it only means editing the long_description.mes file no? There is quite a few items that could do with a long description too I think for example some of the new crafted items (cloaks of displacement minor, major, cape of the mountebank and others.) It might even be nice to add description to the spell scrolls which (probbably couldn't detail the spell for lack of space) but could at least say if the scroll is wiz/sor drd or clr. and maybe which level? Anyhow to get to the point my question was is there some reason why items like the hedrack's set don't have a long description and if not would someone be interested if i maybe wrote a few descriptions up? Rawe Edit: Also aren't hedrack's items undervalued? a +5 to reflex save for 4 gp? or +6 strength for 19 gp?
Well Kalshane and Morpheus have both recently added a lot to the 'shift_click' file, if I am not mistaken. Expect to see more soon.
I have added Shift-click descriptions for all of Hedrack's items. I actually just killed him last night and they worked fine. I will look into fixing the price, though. Actually, the 1st and 2nd Ed PNP rules for Identify were pretty brutal, only giving you a vague idea of what an item did. 3.5 Identify gives you all the properties, but takes an hour to cast. Analyze Dweomer is basically like Identify, but works instantly and can ID multiple items.
Darmagon has made an Analyze Dweomer spell, among other high level spells, but the spell mod is still in a beta testing stage of development.
See, Kalshane, there is my problem.... I am still using a 3.0e Handbook. Man I have GOT to get a 3.5e!! In 3.0 Identify was more brutal than 1st and 2nd- still took 8 hours, but only gave the most basic funtion. Thanks for the update!
