Just a heads up to those of you who would post new threads in the Community > General Discussion forum, and also to new members ... Due to a recent dramatic uptick in the number of bots registering and posting spam threads in General Discussion, we have implemented new member authorization for new registrations, and thread authorization for new threads in General Discussion. This means that an admin must look at your registration and verify that it's not member 'Vreeevsbs1,' with an e-mail address of 'discountbags1@hotmail-dot-com' before you get to actually join, and that an admin must view a new thread in GD and verify that it's not "My Phavrite Movies, watch One Tree Hill Free!" before your thread gets to go live. In practical terms, this will likely mean nothing more than potentially a few hours delay for both things if you are legit. This has already been in place for a week or so now, and along with a couple other measures (such as human verification type for registration), it seems to have stopped the bots cold. So it's a good thing. Please play along and be patient.
