Just need suggestions to the veterans of this game. 300(yes, the movie about 300 spartans and stuff), is so great that it inspire me to make a party of fighters.... Now the question is, is it okey or suggestable to make a 5 fighter party without any wizards or clerics, or is this kind of line-up is doomed from the start. It's just I don't want to have a hard time in the future. Please help.
having fun by copying a movie sure you can do it. until resently most of my parties are really low on magic - like one cleric with no spells memorised. Anyway I've done a Roman styled partye with 6 fighters with shortswords, javelins, tower shields and banded armour and what your talking about isn't to different. because you'd want to equip your charcters in the same gear you'll have to console in their stuff, I'd use plumed helms (give 6035), round shields (give 6060) a spear of some sort (I'm not sure id the onehanded spear is in or has been in the game, but if it is then thats the one you want - I think its the Spear of Keoland which I think you have to console in with give 4490), for the muscle bound look try the Gladiator Armor (give 6318) or Marauder Armor (give 6321) and the red cloak (give 6124). for any close work the closest thing to the swords they used in the movie would be scimitars but I'll leave that up to you along with boots and gloves. You'd want your characters to have good strength and constitution and a pretty good dexterity and you'll probabley want to cheat and give your face character a stupidly high charisma to make up for the lack of social skills (up it to about 30 or so). Skills like tumble and use magical device are the ones you want to spend your points in and one or two levels of rogue probley wouldn't hurt (for various reasons).
How about a Bard too? I think i remember there being some guy playing some musical instrument as they set out. After that i dont think it appears again, but its an option maybe?
Tnx for the tips and tricks, I officially loved you guys. Just last question, how can I increase the charisma like you mentioned(30 to up?)?
obiously you missed the link - "you'll probabley want to CHEAT and give your face character a stupidly high charisma." - so its here http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1676 also just cos someone has one or 2 ranks in perform doesn't mean they have bard levels, and I really don't think it'll help your campaign.
Cujo, if you didn't know- using Co8 Obsidian, at least on my laptop, hyperlinks do not stand out at all.
Indeed; he was playing the pipes. I think the one-eyed narrator of the tale (the Faramir actor from LotR) was more bard-like, as his tale inspired the future victory. Cujo...I think someone ought to make a "Spatha" in honor of the movie. It looked awfully cleaver-like, to me. I realize Hollywood took an extreme amount of license with the design, but that thing is incredibly fearsome looking. Hell, someone could mod the entire Hoplite suite of arms...that would rock!
I was thinking of doing both of those - the sword and the armour - this weekend. meh, I wasn't being snapy - I was just in a rush when I posted this morning before work and I wasn't sure if you'd pick it up in the first place.
