Been on the Atari boards singing the praises of the fine group of people here & finally got my ass in gear to join. First of all - bless the Co8 people for making ToEE a game worth playing. There's no doubt in my mind they are directly responsible for this game having any longevity whatsoever. Finally started playing ToEE a coupla weeks ago & all was actually pretty good - til now. I'm on the first level of the Temple & just finished a scrap with an Ettin. Then I talked to 'Farmer Prisoner' & 'Farmer Prisner's Wife'. You know - the coward guy. Anyhow, I let them go (to piss off the Temple more than anything), close the door to the cell & rest. fine & dandy. BUT - since that, I go one tunnel to the east where there's a room with 3 molds, my Sorcerer gets ready to Fireball the bastards & blam! No spell, can't move, nuttin'. So I reload & same thing. I try anothere area & try to cast Mirror Image on myself - same thing! What's goin' on?! Oh yeah - when I first loaded up, I un-exed the Quad Blending & Gloss Mapping options in oder to get the game to run a little smoother. Could that be the culpit? Can't see how, but maybe some of you kowledgeable folks can shed some light. Cheers
Your sorcerer may be suffering from the spell permanency bug, (I'm pretty sure this can happen without any spell tabs active), if you have Livonya's mod installed talk to Jaroo about bringing a character back from the dead and you will see an option for spell permanency. If you don't have that mod the only solution is to kill the character.
Hey, its Electric from Atari! (Electric "from the block." ) Yeah, ordinaryjones is probably right about spell permanancy. I know you said on the old boards you don't have Liv installed yet, so you'll have to kill off your PCs with the problem. But you can resurrect them and restore their XP with the cleric spell Restoration. Always warms my heart to see the Atari crew migrate over here. I haven't messed with Liv's mod yet, but mention of an Ettin and a Farmer+Farmer's Wife on the first level of the temple made me think he must be running it. Am I missing something?
Its lvl 3 by the sound of it, Mandy and Whitman - i guess he went in the back door and its the first lvl he reached. Meh... it actually get easier from here on up

OJ - it seems to be only in that area - I reloaded, backtracked to other areas(s) & things are tickety-boo. ShiningTed - yup to Mandy/Whitman - I was gonna waste that simpering fool, but I wanted to pi$$ of the Temple owners (mission accomplished, according to Logbook) even more. I'm just gonna muddle thru for now & when I get my own unborrowed copy of the game (just won $8 / ebay) I'll be sure to zing in Liv's mod. Thanks again, people. You kats rawk!
