As some of you may know I've had some RL dramas over the last 18 months or so starting 18/10/05 with this... ...and ending for my part 2 weeks ago when I appeared in court to testify for the prosecution (it was me who rang the cops in the first place). Court was so insanely boring and the defence laywer asked me some pretty fucking stupid and irrelevant questions. Well now its all over with Carl Harding convicted on two charges, Possession of equipment/material with intent to manufacture methamphetamine. He is currently in custody and will be sentenced in July. A sentence indication is around 2 years imprisonment. He was acquitted on the manufacturing drug charges. I guess it goes with my personal code of conduct because I will always pay someone back more than what they gave to me.
Glad that's wrapped up, Cujo. Counsel: "AND HOW IS IT THAT YOU, MR. CUJO, KNOW THAT THIS MYSTERIOUS PERSON WITH THE METHAMPHETAMINE LAB IS ONE AND THE SAME AS MY CLIENT??? I MEAN, YOU DON"T REALLY KNOW WHO IT WAS, DO YOU???" Cujo: "Is that guy sitting right there at your table your client?" Counsel: "YOUR HONOR I OBJECT TO THIS LINE OF QUESTIONING!!!" I love defense attorneys.
I'd say return betrayal with vengeance; but I get your point. Mine is a more Tolkien-esque sentiment from page 31 of Return of the King. Pity that your courts deliver justice no more swiftly than our own.
from talking to the guys at the court house, it seems that those who have done it a few times before learn the system and exploit it to their own adavantage (Like pleading not guilty so they don't spend xmas in jail).
