GoG version needed patch 2?

Trying out the mod pack 7.5.0 NC encountered following issue
I am using GOG version's ToEE. After I installed everything according to the installation guide here on the forum and ready to boot TFE-X... it gave me an error saying that I should be booting TFE-X from the root directory or I should apply patch 2.

I was booting TFE-X from the root and also ran it as admin.
Does it mean I need to patch the GoG with atari patch 2?
I actually tried to apply the patch but did not seem to be successful.
Please let me know if this issue can be resolved thanks.

 

I' m having a similar problem with running TOEE is that everything works fine but it freezes up at the menu where you choose normal, ironman and such.

I need to check my notes because I thought we had seen this before here.

Any input is welcome though.

Oh, running Win7 installed in c: Games and of course running as admin.

Using AVG 2012 with a paid subscription and my Games folder is in the exceptions list, although I have tried it with AVG turned off and I had AVG turned off during installation.

What's funny is that if I just install the GoG version as it would install without me redirecting it to my C: Games folder, the vanila GoG version runs fine and plays.

I'm not having trouble until I incorporate the Front End into my game.

 

I think we have seen that issue before. If I remember right, I had to reinstall to fix it.

 

I thought I had seen most problems at least once.

And good advice, but alas ... I had already tried that before posting.

 

yea it was the firewall problem. I disabled newton while installing the Co8 patch. It worked well

For what it's worth, I usually check my emails and such via my phone and sometimes miss the links.

Co8 will email you when someone posts on a thread you're following.

OK, before I looked at the link you so nicely provided, I figured maybe you meant disable intro movie and enable them.

It just so happens to be that I always disable intro movie as a default on every install, when I enabled the intro movie BAM the game runs, videos and all.

The shaking has almost stopped, I'm probably going to have to pull an all-niter of playing TOEE to get rid of my TOEE withdrawal symptoms.

First, thanks for the add; then, congratulations about the good work. I'm a fan of roleplaying games (paper & dice), and let me tell you that Circle of Eight made ToEE a real roleplaying game!!

Now, If you allow me to ask some questions, I have troubles playing the pack 7.5.0. The game runs perfect. But, I can't access to the new maps that you create. My pack is in level 5 and the blacksmith of Hommlet never talk to me about the new things. Actually, he ask me to open his chest, but just the horn was inside.

1. I don't know what version of ToEE I had.
2. I just install the 7.5.0 with no other mode or pack.
3. Runs perfect. I had access the masterworks you create, but no new maps or quots.

Can you help me?!?!?!

When you opened the chest and got the horn did you also get a book?

If the person who opened the chest had a full inventory the book may be on the ground.

You really need to read the book, some good stuff in there.

 

Sirchet, about the book, nop. No book and nothing on the floor, I'll check.

In fact, nothing of the new missions . The blacksmith don't say anything about Welkwood Bog, Hickory Branch, Arena of Heroes. I'm already exploring the Temple and the Moathouse didn't respawn, Mona in Nulb, didn't give me more dialogues... It's like if I have the expansion incomplete. I think that I need to download another modes, or laters expansions... don't you think??? I just have installed the 7.5.0.
