Hi first time poster, long time (well a week lol) reader. I'd just like to start by saying a big thanks to the COE crew for making this game actually playable. My disks have been sitting in a cold dark box for about two years and I heard about the modding and decided to give it another go, and lo and behold the game is actually enjoyable now! Yay! ToEE was My very first D & D module, so I was pretty amped when it came out. That amped turned to sadness and rage (perhaps even tears, it was a dark day)after I realized how buggy the game was. So hats off! Anyhooooooooooo.... In the moathouse the gnome prisoners gave Me a ring and says it'll mark Me as a friend of the gnomes. I mean that's great and all, one can never have enough friends, but is there an actual point? I'm starting at the temple now and I've yet to find any gnomes to be friends with. Can anyone give Me a hint? And while I'm asking noob questions, how does one get to the orc cave? From what I understand I have to talk to the Homlet village elder, but I've been back a few times and He's not spilling the beans. Apart from "desperate housewives" I'm pretty sure I'm finished with Homlet. So many questions! Hahaha. Thanks in advance for any help.:Being_a_s
About the ring...let's say that you WILL get a friend...keep the ring, at least in the inventory. Since you are starting with the temple, you don't want to spoil the fun. As for the orc caves... well, look in Hommlet for the biggest and opulent house...and keep asking for un poco de firundigli un poco de zarandanga some fun...:gotmyatte
Well he did say he had talked to the Elder... Unless I'm still suffering from the Head Trauma from those "buff orks":yikes:; i"m pretty sure thats how i got the quest... just try talking to him again; maybe you skipped over one of the dialog options?
Getting the quest from the elder in Hommlet requires really getting into conversation with him as Bezerker said.
If you are already at the Temple, it may be too late to get the orc cave quest. The quest can be picked up very early in the game, and I think it times out if you wait too long. That cave does have other purposes that may show up while you are in the temple...
