I went for a long walk with she who must be obeyed yesterday. We stopped to have lunch in a cafe. She ordered a panini with roasted vegtables and mozzarella cheese. I ordered a club sandwhich. When our food arrived she looked at mine and said. "Wow look at all that meat, If I wasn't a vegetarian we could have shared that." "No we could not have " I said " no we could not."
She looked at me quizzically in reply but said nothing. Later we stopped at a jewelry shop. She started eyeing a pair of diamond earrings. I studied the ground intensely. When the salesperson set the earrings out for her to look at, I said, "If I wore jewelry we could share those." "No we could not," she said. "No we could not."
