Here I was, being a good citizen. Just got back from the TOEE. Was hurt, so my cleric cast Cure Light Wound, Mass. I had a few extra targets available, so I figured, who wouldn't want some extra positive healing energy? So I selected Ostler, his wife, Spugnoir, and the town guard. I healed them for 10 - 15 hp each, then they attacked! Ungrateful wretches! Now I had to kill them and THEN had to remove the butcher of hommlet rep... Sheesh.
I guess you scared 'em, or maybe they are of a religious vein about certain things and consider stuff like healings and whatnot to be personal.
You should go around healing everyone in Hommlet. Then, when they show their "gratitude", gut the heretical slime. That oughta' teach 'em the proper respect for piety.
