Hi all, bought TOEE a few weeks ago and was really enjoying it until the inevitable problems made it completely unplayable. I have installed patch 1 and 2, as well as the Co8 fan fix, temple.zip, and Liv's mod.... but I seem to have even more problems now. Started playing again today but quests in Hommlet (e.g. gambling with Furok) are not showing up in the log book. It makes the sound and the book flashes, but there is nothing there when you look in it, and the proper dialogues dont show up when you go to complete the quests. Also problem with talking to the druid about conversion to the old faith for Marek... the option just isnt there. Was thinking of trying with just patch 1 and 2 and Liv's mod but dont hold out much hope.... Any suggestions? Am very frustrated as I really like this game! (didnt have any problems the first time round until got into the temple and same thing happened... quest dialogues and log book problems again)
Liv's mod is supposed to include the Co8 fan fix, but it shouldn't really matter if you've installed both as long as Liv's was installed last. Make sure you've deleted all the unnecessary folders in the maps(?) directory as per Liv's install instructions, and start a new game.
Do you have an NPC in the first slot in your party? It causes all kinds of problems, including the log book not updating.
I have my #1pc in the lead slot and the ego section hasn't updated since the trader fight quite a while ago. Romags key is in the key section, but nothing from temple level1 is there. I think i'll go back to the traders and look around. Went back to the traders and finished looting(man-at-arms), and back to the Inn, and checked log book, no change. Noticed the Traders Revealed quest says mentioned. Can't complete it because they are dead. Looks like the logbook is "hung up" and wont update.
