Fresh install for ToEE and Co8

    After installing them and activation the Co8, I click on play and immediately get this error
    ToEE Front-End X was unable to start the game.
    The reason for the failure is in the log file.

    This is what I find in the log file:
    WARNING: Error starting the game executable directly. Reason reported by the system: Cannot run program "C:\GOG Games\Temple of Elemental Evil\toee.exe": CreateProcess error=740, The requested operation requires elevation.

    I have the anti-virus off and the firewall accepting the .exe files.

    Do you have it set to run as an administrator?

    darkmage99, I would make sure your Java is the latest version and then run the game as admin, (as ShadyElf said).

    The front end loader needs Java 7 to run and it's probably best to keep Java updated due to many reasons.

    Ok, java was updated. If I try to run the games from the icon on desktop no go. but if I go to folder and right click run as admin it works fine

    Click on properties for TFE-X.exe, then go to compatibility. Under settings check "run as administrator" and then apply. Now you should be able to run the shortcut.:thumbsup:
