Hi. 1. Are thieving skills usefully? Are there many dangerous traps or locked chests filled with useful loot? Is thieving properly utilized in both original and new (verbons?) parts of the game? 2. Are social skills usefully? Are there many quests in which it makes a difference if i have good talking skills or not? Is talking properly utilized in both original and new (verbons?) parts of the game? Which of these 4 skills is most useful? 3. Is greater spell focus still broken in the newest version of your mod? 4. I might try to play without any crafting (just loot). What weapon groups are most represented in this mod? What weapons should i focus on? 5. If i decide to craft items. Is it still broken (overpowered beyond PnP). Can i still create swords with multiple elemental damage bonuses? New questions: 6. I want to roll a halfling rogue. Which is better: Pure rogue using ranged weapons for sneak attacks (point blank, rapid shoot, precision). Or maybe Rogue with some warrior levels specialized in dual wielding? Or maybe there are better options for sneak attacks? 7. If i decide to create all my gear by myself, which classes are best for which gear? Wizard for Wondrous items and Cleric for Arms and Armour? 8. What are the best spells my wizard can get above level 10? Is it worth it to invest in spell focus: Enchanting, Evocation or Necromancy? 9. Is one Healer enough? Should i get 2 clerics? or Cleric and a Paladin? 10. If i play all the content what level will my party be at the end (no grinding exp). Im planing 5 ppl party. Thanks for any answers i might get.
1. There are ways round each locked chest if you don't have a pc rogue but sneak attack coupled with invisibility sphere or improved invisibility or glitterdust is not to be sniffed at 2. Atari created a range of Fedex tasks in Hommlet and Nulb that use all social skills 3. Greater spell focus works 4. Depends on your alignment 5. You can but there are much bigger exploits in ToEE if you lack the will to stop yourself using them......
To answer #4- longswords are the most common magical weapons, followed by shortswords, maces/staffs, longbows, greatswords, bastard swords, greataxes, battleaxes, crossbows and a ransuer. There are at least 5 magical longswords easily available in the game (depending on how you play it) while there are at most 2 of the other weapons listed except for the ransuer (I think one of the magical crossbows has been moved to post Zuggy but I might be off on that).
I highly recommend just jumping in and playing the game. Finding out what skills are used, or what weapons are available can retract from the overall experience. Of course this IS merely my opinion.
Magic can be used to disarm trapped chests and pick locks. Social skills see quite large amount of use in the vanilla content. Sense Motive is the most important with Bluff as a close second. Yes you can.
There are a couple of quests in the NC in Verbobonnoc that greatly depend on certain social skills- the higher the better...
