i am sure that this is a well discussed topic but i was curious what everyones favorite class/race/gender for toee is... mine is a male half-orc paladin so far...
I like Elven Rogue / Rangers with Finesse, and Half-orc Barbarian / Clerics or Barbarian / Druids with 20 strength.
In PnP game or this one? In PnP I favor Half-elf Mages, in this game I play either a "real-world cross-over" version with all Humans- Mage being my favorite class, or an actual Mixed Race game with my "Perfect Group" favoring a Half-elf Mage or a Human Paladin. BTW in my "real-world cross over" game no one is a Paladin- Neither me nor my friends/family have the Stats for it Which prompts me to make a new thread... perhaps another contender for a Sticky...
If you are talking about playing using your "real" world stats. I did that last year. Let me bump the thread. I'd love to know how you do it.
In PnP my favorite class is ranger by far but I also play 2E eventhough 4E is out and most people play 3.5. In Toee My favorite build more over class is fighter/rogue.
I always love me a halfling rogue in my party. The brooding, mysterious type If I were to get back into PnP it'd be the first character I'd draft up.
I lean towards paladins (since they scrapped the Elven Fighter/Magic-User, the dastards!) but I always rol my rogue first. Between the sneak-attack, the "I'm the face guy!" skills and the other essential stuff (picking locks and traps etc) he always seems to be my main man.
I haven't played pnp. In ToEE, and other games I've played, I favor the sorcerer first, followed closely by the bard. Human mostly, though I do tend to like elves. CG is my favored alignment as it seems to follow my own nature the closest, imo. In the past, I have resisted paladins, never even thought of using one, until someone told me I really must try one, especially in ToEE. So the party I used and won with, had a paladin. She was not my 'front' character, needless to say. I favor druids over clerics, but clerics seem to be a necessity, and I really don't know how to play druids very well. As far as my skill and expertise goes, I have very little, to no one's surprise I imagine. I am still learning. Will probably never catch up with most of you.
Druid is my favorite class. The versatility this class can bring to the table constantly amazes me. You can use a druid as damage, crowd control, buffer, healer, or even extra party members (go go summon spells). No other class I have ever played has made me wish I could save spell template like a druid does. I will normally load up my druid with CC, buffing, and damage spells with only a few heals for emergencies. Then when I go back to town to sell I swap all spells to heals so I can rest 8 hours, heal the party, then rest 8 more and be ready to go.
For ToEE, I normally play with a full 5 PC's, using a Bard as my "Face Man". I've payed through with Paladins before, but found them a bit restrictive. In PnP, I've stayed mostly with warrior/rogue types. When I was playng PnP, I redid the spell rules, taking some ideas from the Palladium RPG, making wizards/clerics more effective. My all time favourite.... my Fire Dragon from the Palladium RPG. I still have all of his info, treasure lists, etc. It takes up an entire sprial notebook. Oh, the adventures Vilani Brimstone had..... *sigh*
When it comes to alignment I whether in a video game or in PnP chaotic neutral stands out for me. Even if I like the 2E eplaination of it better. Being completely crazy and all doing anything on a whim.
