(1) I am still 'old school' and not all that versed in 3.5 rules, so can anyone help me find out what benefits the different familiars give you? (2) Also - I don't remember encountering any dragons (or 1/2 Ogre Dragons) - so where is this coming from? Thanks. (3) TWF - what about using 2 Longswords, 2 Scimitars, or 2 Shortswords? That way you get the benefit of the Wpn Specialization. (not tried it yet - just fishing for advice for those that have used it) -LCC "It doesn't matter which way we go - we're lost."
Search the forums for information about familars. I think that sword is actually just the baylor sword from the fire node. Search the forums for information about TWF.
RE:TWF quickly comparing shortswords, longswords and bastard swords... for penalities to attack rolls 2 short swords are better but then they do less damage than the other 2. longswords do better damage than shortswords but have a -4 penalty to attack rolls instead of -2 for light weapons bastard swords do the most damage but cost an extra feat to wield one handed and have the -4 to attack rolls scimatars have the same penalties as longswords but only do 1d6 instead of 1d8
but scimitars have an 18-20 critical threat range whereas long swords only have a 19-20 (ie. you you threaten a critical 15% of the time with a scimitar and 10% of the time with a longsword.) Or check out the in-game help accessed by the big blue question mark in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Check out feats: Two Weapon Fighting and Improved Two weapon fighting. Sadly, the info for familiars and weapon attributes is severely lacking in the help system (we could fix that but not soon.) try this link http://www.d20srd.org/ and look around. Some of the stuff there is not official 3.5 but all the necessary rules are covered there. Just look around..... Darmagon
