So, I've descended into the bowels of the dungeon and confronted Heldrak. I got mopped the first time, because my normal strategy of burn the boss didn't pan out so well with Iuz making a showcase. So, second time through I cleared everyone else out, before damaging the Priest himself. Once Iuz showed up, I finished off Heldrak and made a pitiful showing against Iuz, with half my party dead, I fled. I've played around, did some more random encounters; and cleared out the side hall with Sigwhatever and the Mage guy (where you obtain the golden skull and get the cinema scene with the throne room). So now I'm ready to return to Iuz by his lonesome fully rested. When all of a sudden, St. Cuthbert shows up... very cool. However, everytime he gets to his dialogued line of "Fiend of the North" the game crashes, I can go back and do other things, and roam the rest of the world. No problem. Go back to the Iuz encounter, and crashes again at the same point. I've run pretty far into the "combat" field with Iuz and I've noticed that the previous Cuthbert appearances haven't disappeared. And everytime I trigger the dialogue a new one pops. corrupted save? is this buggy for others? is there a way to reset him? Thanks.
That's been a known buggy scenario since the beginning, probably due to the complexity of the scripting involved. While your save may not technically be corrupted, it may be hopelessly stuck in the 'always going to produce the same result' loop. Best just to revert to something earlier and try over.
