    Greetings All,
I have done a search of the forum for the last few hours and can not find an answer to the following questions.

How do I edit the properties of the starting PC which are clearly wrong IMHO. For example Regdar has weapon focus Greataxe instead of Greatsword. I did find the post relating to how to change NPC's in the game, as well as PC that you have created. But I can not find any relating to PC's that are already created that you can add to your party.

Is there any mods released that corect the starting PC abilities.

    Cheers

From what I can find I haven't seen anything that will let you change proficiencies
for pcs or npcs. I hope that someone can come along and help you with that.
However a lot of things can certainly be done that information is in this thread:

You're talking about the PC's that come pre-made packaged in the game? Yes, there is a way to do this. You need to download the ToEE character editor which can be found at Sorcerer's Place ---> here <---

Just look for Farros'(sp?) Character Editor near the top of the screen. Be careful, though - changing too many things (or changing the wrong things) can corrupt the character file.

To change the premade characters (Like Redgar) you'll first need the extracted players files that came with the game, which I have uploded for you below.

Thanks all for your help. I will give it ago shortly. Does anyone have the official stats for those characters (including stats, feats etc)? I have some of official information about them but not all of it.
    Cheers

A few of them (Redgar, Lidda and a few others) are mentioned throughout the PHB so stats may be figured out from their roll break downs, but that might take a while to calculate a stat block for each. you could try searching the internet for the stat blocks for the PHB characters, they may even be on the Dungeons & Dragons forum already, I've not looked though.

I've never used the character editor, so i'm unsure of all it can do, but quite a number of the premade characters have needed a tweak here and there since Vanilla, I'm talking about hair colours and styles that don't match the portrait, inappropriate voices (burley Half-orc girls with squeeky halfling voices), If you can edit those details that would be great. :D

Wouldn't it be infinitely easier to just make them from scratch as your own PCs?

    Probably.

Still, you'd need the file names at least to overwrite the old character files as I beleive the game will rename the files used for 2 characters with the same name so as to not cause overwriting by accident.

Ted you may want to get new versions for KotB as well, adding some of the new feats and skills, so as to make the premade characters have a vague hope of being useful in KoTB. ;)

    Greetings again all,
It truely amazes me how much info you can find on the next, if you know where to look. Anyhow found the first level stats for Lidda, Tordek, Mailee, Jozan here:
    http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/cc/20000626a

I have also emailed the D&D insiders on the D&D website to hopefully get the rest.

    Cheers

    Guys,
I finally have had a chance to try out the TOEE Character editor (both versions on the Sorcerers place website) on the players posted by Allyx, however ever time I try to load them it comes up with can not load error. I can however load up my own characters I have made as well as the one man by COE called Giant. Anyideas why? I currently have placed them in the exact same place as the Giant player file.
    ie: Temple of Elemental Evil\modules\Co8-5.0.0\players
    Cheers

Is the Ferros Trainer, the two character editors available on Sorcerer place, verison 0.7 and 0.8. If so they are the ones that are giving me the error or is there another trainer by Ferrios somewhere else on the web?

Hmmm, yeah, the character editors don't seem to be able to open the premade characters files for some reason. What you ould do though is open the characters files in game, copy all relevent information and re-build the characters from scratch in the game, simply renaming the new player files with the ldfiles names will be enough to overwrite the old ones.

ran into a small problem with that, for those people who sent me their PCs so they could be used as pre-gen PCs, everyone including me used the old portraits.

you might have to do it all again.
