Hi, I'm enojying loosing my time playing the game alone with a single character: very hard. I have had 2 atrocious bugs that are really a pain in the butt: 1 - the juggernauts in the water elemental area of the temple tends to increase by number everytime I have to reload after loosing that fight. (I killed them all shooting at them with a bow behind a door so that they can't reach me: 15 minutes to kill 4 making 3 or 4 damages with each shoot ) Does it happens to you too or just to me? 2 - this is nasty: Mikey won't give me the Orb of Sash. The game doesn't show me any dialog except the one where he says: "{180}{You know. They pay me a little cash to scare off some thieving gypsies and steal some mystical orb. But I can't get two of 'em to leave, no matter how hard I try. So I get roughed up a little and now I'm out. [Looks up grinning] But I kept that orb.}{You know. No intimidate, gather information, discern lies cheks for me: nothing! Is there a way to fix it? I don't think that my skills are too low, since I'm playing a character with very high charisma and rogue levels and at least 7 skills point in severa "diplomatic" skills. Please, help! If there is one thing that I really hate is to left things undone! M.
I've never run into either of these problems. There was only one juggernaut for me in the Water Temple and I got the Orb of Sah from Mickey without a problem. This has been true for every run through the game I've made, including the latest one where I've installed Livonya's mod. In fact, I don't recall ever seeing anyone else have those problems. I realize that doesn't help you, but so far you seem to be unique.
I saw two or three Juggernaughts side by side in my current game. Haven't gotten around to killing them yet.
The juggernaut has been reported before. I regularly have three to fight but this may have nothing whatsoever to do with Livonya's mod - as I am relatively new to playing it makes it hard to tell what ha caued the change. (Much like the Feldrin problems Livonya recently fixed). Someone reported that the number of juggernauts is dependant on the party level. I tend to have maximum party size so I assumed this is the answer. Interesting that Kalshane only ever finds one though... will test this one out. The orb quest isn't broken. It requires the intimidate skill but it does definitely work. Livonya has reported that s/he has fixed the only bug reported so far (which has been there for a while) which involves the Porky's Revenge and Orb quest crossover.
well porkys revenge is still borken but yeah the orb works you just have to have a good itimtdate score. i always use a warrior even if he has a lower score they seem to work better for some reason. as for the juggernauts ive only ever run into one in the water temple. no mater how many in my party
I only ever get one Jugernaut in my games. Weird. Everyone keeps talking about multiple Jugernauts and I keep going there to check... and I only find one. Weird is all I can say for now. Mikey will not give you other dialog options if you don't have the Social Skills to trigger them. You will have to kill him or get better at your Social Skills. In my new build (coming soon) Mikey will now go back to Hommlet when you tell him to get out of town. Also, both Porkys Revenge and the Orb quest should work properly, and you can do them in either order without screwing the other one up. Though now you may have to find Mikey in Hommlet rather than Nulb if you made him leave town. Also in the original game if you already did some other non-related quest it would stop these quests from working (this was some quest involving a fish - I can't remember the name). I fixed that in the new build. I am trying to get as many of these problems fixed as I can so I can spend more time on new content. I think I have most of the quest bugs fixed now. The thing with Feldrin was weird. I can't figure out why no one noticed it before this... Anyway, the new build will fix a lot of stuff... - Livonya
Feldrin I brought this up in a post and I never got any response. I guess some others also noticed it too. I wonder about this juggernaut thing. One time I got 3, another time I got 7. I never saw a response to that post either. I guess I'm just seeing things.
My recent Water Temple foray was with a party of 6, all level 7. Only one juggernaut. So if you have the bug, it may be related to level, but if you don't have it, you don't have it, I'm thinking. I wonder if there's something that flags the juggernaut as a random encounter, which I believe are based on party size and level? As for the Feldrin thing, I don't think I ever encountered him, so I never knew he was missing.
There should only be one Juggernaut it's a unique creature to the mod If there is more than one, something is definitely wrong. Speaking of Jug, I hope it stats get tweaked so it is harder, it seemed a bit nerfed to me last time through the game (pre-Livs mod)and was a bit buggy delivering non-lethal damage on one of it attacks .
This is the theory I'm working on and trying to replicate. Multiple Juggernauts seem to happen (for me at least) when the party uses the NE entrance to the Water Temple and when combat mode switches on as soon as you enter the room for the very first time. I've just tried fighting Belsorn straight after talking to him and that gives only one juggernaut, although strangely the gargoyles in the ne and nw corners do not then appear. Right now I've got a totally clean install (down to registry) and so this may have squashed the bug. But maybe this needs to be tested after whichever trigger makes you KoS to the Water Temple priests as soon as you enter their room ( trigger could be accepting Kelno's final quest). This may not be anything to do with Livonya's mod, and could very well be down to lots of installs all on top of each other without being properly uninstalled (I had an issue with not being able to use the brothel although Smith was selling masterwork weapons when I first installed Co8, so these things do happen..) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, I now have a save where it replicates 2 juggernauts every time on my system. The save involves you using my party to enter the room via the western entrance to the water temple - the juggernaut replicates itself as soon as you enter. This totally disproves my great theory above but nevermind. I feel like Baldrick right now :shock: If anyone wants to have a look (and see if this is an install thing) PM me an e-mail address which allows .RAR attachments of 352 KB size (it's over 4 megs when opened up using rar.). I'm guessing that the save game requires all 5 files relating to it so I've put all of them into the folder. (Got a zip version which is 422 KB in size)
I thank you all for the contribute about the game. I was thinking that another possibility about the Juggernaut is that the game has several versions of related to the group level but it misses to delete the previous Juggernaut(s) everytime that the party level rises and than that the Juggernaut is "upgraded". I think so because, using only a PC, I had the time to see that everyone of them had different HP, like as consequence of more Hit Dices. About the Mikey's quest,what is Porkys Revenge? Anyway, it is the first time that it happens to me too and I alreayd tried to kill him or just to knock him down and to steal the orb but, after that I handle the orb to Mona, the quest still results uncompleted, she is still asking for the orb and mikey is still telling me the same thing (if he doesn't attack me). And, those are my PC stats: Skills (s.points) total Bluff (8) 12 Diplomacy (15) 23 Gather Informations (10) 16 Intimidate (14) 20 Sense motive (11) 15 So I think that they are high enough, even more when I cast on myself Eagle Splendor and Guidance (to improve the next skill check). Note too that Guidance is not consumed after talking to Mikey, so no skill check is done. The dialogue file is 00064brau apprentice.dlg Is there any code that I may add to string 180, that is the only one available to me? More, I get the chanche to ask you this: Is there any positive ending about the quest related to the guy who poisoned the lambs? I was never able to make him to confess. And is the elettric trap with the light at the last dungeon level impossible to disarm? I was never able to disarm it even with a the disable device skill at the top! thanks! M.
There could be different versions of the juggernaut, but more likely it's just a matter of different HP rolls. (The game rolls for hit points everytime it spawns a creature, so enemy hitpoints are always going to be different.)
I ran into two juggernauts as well, my party entered through the ne door. It seems like which door you use probably doesn't matter though.
Open up the console and type game.quests[60].state what do you get in return? I looked at this quite a lot. It is impossible to give Mona the orb and not have this quest finished. Though there is one odd line in the script. Did you botch this quest at one point? Anyway, please give me that info when you can... - Livonya
