I was curious about Diablo II LoD. I bought and tried Diablo II LoD. *laugh* Diablo II is very much a "Super Mario D&D". I can see why people could find it to be addictive. It is definitely a hack-n-slash game that is all about repeated kill-kill-kill and kill it faster some more. I will admit the maps look good. Diablo II LoD is all about how fast you can click the mouse button. The fact you have to save and exit the game; save a copy of the files from the save folder to a folder somewhere else; and use those save files later if your character dies is a total pain.
Y'know krunch, I could join you in an online game of Diablo II LoD, but then again I'd rather castrate myself with a spoon than play Diablo II LoD. mg:
Funny enough, one of the people I know has a lvl 97 character in D2:LoD who can basically eliminate a dozen monsters in a couple seconds, and that guy simply loves to run around in the dumbest way possible and slash enemies (he doesn't even care about picking up anything from 'em since he doesn't need anything). I dunno what is really good about this type of activity (I can't call it "playing a game", really) - I find it incredibly dumb, but that person can do this for hours and hours straight. - Agetian
That game only has one redeeming feature. The mad cow level in which you are mobbed by mad, halberd weilding, bipedal heffers. Good for a laugh.
Yup the mid-west encourages bovine humor. The cows were in Lord of Destruction. I never owned the game a buddy of mine did and I played from time to time. I actually attacked a party of hapless adventurers with said vicious cows during a D&D campaign. Killed an 8th level Pally and their 9th level cleric. Hee Heee
