Hey all, I had a thought at 3am while trying to sleep. I imagine a lot of you like or watch Critical Role (I know I do, have been watching since mid campaign 1) I was curious if anyone had thought of making the campaign parties in ToEE. I know each party is 7 player characters so this makes the game a little too easy but perhaps minimal point buy or some other restriction could help. Has anyone done this before? I still havent been dabbling in 3.5 edition rules and/or character builds as much as i am used to 5th edition myself. Itll be interesting to see if there are any cool ways to build the characters from Vox Machina, or the Mighty Nein or Bells Hells. Anyways, just some fun to think about. I might make a write up for the parties if i am able to do so.
Thanks I started a very base idea for each party but haven't gotten into more details yet. So soon though.
Ok, so here is my go for the Vox Machina crew, but I kind of would like some additional help? Vox Machina had either 7 (or 8 members if including Tiberius, though most people disapprove) - Grog Strongjaw - Half Giant (Half Orc as substitute) Male Barbarian - Fighter multiclass Typical weapons used Throwing Axes, Throwing hammers, Greatsword or Maul (large 2H weapons) Feats - Power Attack, Cleave , typical OR Brutal Throw, Quick Draw? - Scanlan Shorthalt - Gnome Male Bard Typical weapons used - short sword, maybe a light crossbow , prioritized enchantment spells Feats - Captivating Melody? Or Point blank shot/precise shot/rapid shot? - Keyleth of the Air Ashari - Half Elf or Elf Female Druid - Circle of the Moon Typical wildshape in combat (monk multiclass for additional strength?) Feats - Natural Spell , Crafting feats? - Vax'ildan - Half Elf Male Rogue/Paladin Multiclass (Is this good in 3.5?) Typical weapons used Daggers!!! Thrown and stab (Can we smite and sneak attack at the same time in 3.5?) Feats - quick draw for thrown, Or weapon finesse, weapon focus? Whats best here craven? - Vex'ahlia - Half Elf Female Ranger/Rogue Multiclass ( Must use bear for Trinket so minimum level 8 Ranger?) Typical weapons used Longbow! Feats - weapon focus longbow, precise shot, point blank shot - Pike Trickfoot - Gnome Female Cleric War and Healing Doman Typical weapons used Morningstar plus shield Feats - Augmented Healing, crafting feats? Shield feats? - Percival De Rolo III - Human Male Fighter (Gunslinger) Typical weapons used Guns (substitue with repeating or light crossbow Feats - Exotic weapon proficiency Repeating crossbow, weapon focus, precise shot, point black shot, etc - Tiberius Stormwind -Dragonborn (Human as substitute) Male Sorcerer (Dragonheart Mage Prestige?) Typical weapons used - besides spells a quarterstaff? Feats - dragonic heritage, etc Thats about as far as i got on this group so far. Looking for advise, suggestions, what should the optimal point buy be for a party of 7 or 8 to not overly gimp the game but also not make it impossible either. Also feat suggestions? Anyways, was kind of cool to brainstorm!
I don't really know the Critical Role characters but the idea has merit and I hope others can offer input and suggestions.
Thanks zertzax. I am hoping someone will stumble on the post. I'm still working on my ideas just slowly and then I've got 2 more campaigns to work through haha
I am still trying to save my money to buy a new computer so I can play the game again. It has been too many years and lots of changes since I last played.
I know how you feel. In the same boat. I am a dad of 3 and have a tight income. My pc can luckily play the old games baldurs gate 1 and 2 , icewind dale and toee and I'm sure some older indie games but I can't partake in bg3 which I am so dying to!
