I recently started playing the game for the first time, and I found an AWESOME Longsword +3 chainsaw: in effectiveness) in the TOEE. When I had it ID'd, I took a closer look, and discovered that the graphic for the sword is the same as the sword from Thundercats! I laughed my head off. Anyone else find this sword/other famous swords? Yes, it does have the panther in the middle. No, it doesn't call the thundercats (which would be the single greatest addition in the game, period)....although....I haven't tried use item yet.... EDIT: Forgot to mention which modules I run... I run all modules included in the Co8 mod and patch available at sourcerers.net. EDIT #2: If this was added by a moduler, who was it so I can thank them for it?
The fact that the Sword of Omens is in the game has not escaped us. Good eye, though, and we are always happy to be joined by another Thundercats fan.
seriously though, if it was made somehow rarer, and able to give, say, see invisible or something, and also summon a "Thundercat" (perhaps a modded creature, like the bugbear?) I would never use any other weapon simply for the camp value. Also, if it is moduled to do these things, some show soundbytes should be included ("Thundercats, HO!" and suchlike). I would pay for this mod.
Well, we've jokingly discussed giving it the ability to cast Clairvoyance. If someone cooked up a way to have it make the old Sword of Omens sound effect when used, I would totally want to mod the sword to do it.
I have ABSOLUTELY no idea what you guys are talking about, nor ever have when this subject has come up, but if I added animations to the ioun stones, I guarantee I could add sound to a sword.
There may be a copyright problem with the "Thundercats, HO!" part. Ted- it was a cartoon that had some popularity in the early 80's in America (at least). Featured a futuristic Earth (post-an Armeggedon or two) in which most "people" were animalistic, specifically the Great Cats. Had Heroes with names like Lionel (the main good guy-owner of the Sword of Omens) and Panthera (token Black-guy cat). I think the bad guy was a Mummy-magic user named Mumra? Anyway, I have exhausted most of my knowledge of that cartoon, which I never got too much into. Hey I DO remember one episode that made me go "Ugh" wherein the new "villian" was some sort of sentient oily wave that the bad guys were unable to affect until they looked up and made/used an "ancient, forgotten weapon" that turned out to be ......... wait for it.......... SOAP! What did they clean themselves within the 30th century or whenever it was set?!!!? Of course they were CATS. Guess getting a licking by the female Cheetara wouldn'ta been so bad.
For those who want to retro back to the early 80s, it's the Thundercats Theme...and here it is! The Lost Intro (from the "Exodus" movie) !!! The hideous evil laugh at the end of the Intro is that of Mumra - an ancient Lich in terms of D&D.
I wasn't talking about the "Thunder Cats, Ho!" but the sound effect/music/whatever from whenever Liono looked through the Sword of Omens. Uh, Cheetara was the chick. Tigra was a dude.
Thanks for the heads up Kalshane- told you I didn't watch it too much! I have changed my post to have the proper name for the female. As far as the "Thundercats, HO!" part, I meant that more for penuin2's suggestion, as he mentioned actually using those words. Just didn't want anyone to get into trouble, thats all.
Why not? A simple image mod with a decent image maker could insert all kinds of extras into the game. This would be one of the cooler ones.
There can be only one. And its Excalibur. And its already in there. (Ok there can be more than one, I lied).
Sunsword... I keep trying to get someone to mod the Wand of Force, but no one seems interested. BTW, an undead magic-user...we call that a Lich.
