When I try to turn undead with Dwarf Cleric of Pelor it says i'm out of charges. It's all your fault!!1 But srzly. I think it is related to the mod.
It's a new game I just started and it was the first time I ever used that option. Besides, I tried resting and it still doesn't work. Oddly, I looked into it and it says I can use turn undead in accordance to my charisma stat, which for that character is 5 (-3). That might explain it.
Yep, surely it's a stat problem, I believe. If you want to be sure, just start a new game with a Cleric who has the right stats, like a 16+, so to say. I bet that then it'll work.
Sheesh... that must be an ugly dwarf... :twitch: You've got level + char bonus times per day of turning attempts. With that charisma, you are not out of charged, you are penalized if your level is low. For example, if you are lvl 1, then it's 1 - 3 = -2, so until at least 4ยบ levl you would not have turning attempts. You should really make another cleric. There's lots of undead.
its a misconception that charisma is all about looks..its also strenght of personality and persuaiveness but with a 5 cha, hes ugly inside and out. who remembers 1st edition's attempt at a 7th stat:comliness? (it was in unearthed arcana i belive).that was just looks
In dnd terms Charisma is both appearance and personality but more so personality from how it effects things in the game.
Its still your fault. :[ I just suffered the dilemma of picking 3 good stats and leaving the others in the dark. I figured the only stat Cleric depended on was wisdom, so i gave him a high that and high strength\constitution. I remade it with mediocre (11 (+0) charisma and picked extra turning which gives you 4(four!!1) extra turnings. I get the impression charisma is a combination of hygene and social skills. Bassists and artists... I'm feeling at home...
the 2 most important ablity scores for a cleric are wisdom and charisma in my opinion. in dnd charisma is important to rogues, bards, sorcerers, paladins and clerics.
There are certain events in the game that require a high charisma to get the dialogue to complete the quest. Meleny is a prime example. The suitor/talker needs a score of 16 or greater. A good cleric of Pelor with sun and strength domains with good wisdom and charisma scores is the ticket. Plus greater turning and decent diplomacy skills covers most everything.
Charisma is the primary stat for Paladins. If you made a pally with a low charisma, you may as well scrap him and start a new one. Almost every ability that seperates pallys from normal fighter-types is charisma based.
i got exactly that same words in another thread...:icon_chuc I know that it's not only looks. It's a typical phrase, much like: DM: "well, you enter the royal chamber, and a maiden escort you to the princess throne..." PC1: *suddendly interrupting the DM* "charisma of the maiden?" DM: "let me se..." *roll dice* "...13, she's pretty cute..." PC 1, 2 and 3: "she's a babe!" *start arguing between them to get her attention* DM: *louder than players* "finally, the princess receives you and..." PC1, 2 and 3: *chorus* "CHARISMA?" DM: *sigh* I' ve readed some place that there's a optional rule in 3.5, just for looks, i think it was like a 7th stat, with bonus and penalizations by race... Anyway, as Wizgeorge says, the social skills are really important ( more in ToEE), i always use a bard a the party face because there's a optional "non violent" option to get out of trouble...you can avoid be assassinated, convince a monster to get in the party, be a trusted member of the temple, or get married with two girls and still be a favored customer in a brothel :mrhappy:
just wanking on about the importance of charisma, how its used in most class ablitiles is as a stonge or forceful personality, for example spntainiously casting spells or turning undead, I think the only time it seems to actually apply it looks is with a halforcs -2.
