For future information as well as to inform myself, I figured a kind of definitive list of which classes have problems in levelling up and at which levels would be useful. Using C08 v5.0.1 as the basis for the list would probably be good. Add them, if you got them Monks - after level 10 have problems (not all their special abilities are actually implemented even if they can be chosen) Sorcerors - after level 15 have problems Rangers - after level 15 have problems Rogues - after level 12 have problems (no special ability or feats can be chosen for level 13, 16 and 19 although you can still levelup by skipping the feat choice stage). Barbarians - after level 10 does not get uncanny dodge vs traps, nor any of his 'rage' special abilities. Also the damage reduction for Barbarians may not be implemented correctly pre and post-level 10.
huh, in my last game, that ended last week, my rogue was level 20 as every game i played but for the 1st time my ranger could grow to level 19 but i can't remeber which ennemy-feat. I chose maybe the combination was good to avoid the block.
Is that total levels of beyond ten or ten levels in a single class that is causing problems? Maybe the key is to multi-class your rogue an take the 11th level as a sorcerer or a ranger, and continue improving in the second class.
It's in a single class Multiclassing is the way forward for these classes once the levels mentioned above have been hit.
You left out the barbarians damage reduction and above 10th uncanny dodge he doesn't get those in TOEE as far as I know.
Thread explaining what is wrong with monk feats post level 10: http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1818&highlight=monks+level+problem @ Sirian - if you can check and confirm, then that would be cool If you notice any other problems with barbars going up to level 20 then include them too.
Zebedee, That answered most of my questions. Thanks for the link and for referring me here to the co8 forum.
Okay. The barbarian is out of whack with the rules. His DR starts at 7th at -1 and ends at 10th with -2. Very different from PHB where the barb doesn't get DR until 11th at-1 and it doesn't max out until 20th at -4. The barb also does not get the uncanny dodge bonuses against traps afforded to him at levels higher than ten. Hopefully that helps clarify the barb issues I brought up earlier. As a side note I had no idea that you have to have a rogue to play as a CN party. To test the barb I tried to start a solo CN game with him but had to restart with a rogue so I could get the chest open.
Barbarian DR should start at DR 1/- at level 7, and improve by one point every three levels thereafter (2/- at 10, 3/- at 13, etc). Going to check it in game now.
The online 3.5 SRD states that the barbarian's should get DR 1 VS all which increases by 1 point every 3 level after 7th (DR 2 at 10th, DR 3 at 13th, DR 4 at 16th, DR 5 at 19th), whether they actually do in ToEE? I have no idea, but I strongly suspect that they don't.
I don't see DR or Trap Sense appearing on the barbarian's feat/class ability listing after leveling up; is it a hidden trait, or do I need an updated temple.dll?
