Hello all. I just started playing the game 3-4 days ago. I feel the need to patch the game, mainly because of the fact that NPCs sell anything they are holding, and will not drop items that are useless to them. There are many Fan Fixes in the threads, and i am not sure which ones i need to download. Any help? Btw, do i need to start over again from the beginning of the game, or can a patch and continue where i left off? Thanks in advance, Shimrath.
If you are going to patch your installation it is strongly recommended that you start a new game in order to get the full benefit. As far as patching goes... you should install ToEE (of course), download patch 2 from Atari, then install the Co8 fan fix patch. From there... Livonya's mod is another great thing to add. It's still in beta, but I've played through pretty much the entire game with it, and it is definitely worth your time IMHO. After Liv's mod... there are a few fixes that can go in place that you can find in her thread... but they aren't necessary. Most of the things they correct aren't show stoppers. I hope this helps.
