    I just looked at the membership list there must be about 300,000 members registered.
    Anybody got an idea of how many people are actively modding this game?

    That membership figure is more like 12,000, btw. A running tally is listed near the bottom of the main page under forum statistics.

    Speaking of the numbers at the bottom - what happened 3 days ago to put almost 1800 users on the site at one time? The most I've ever seen is less than 50(users not counting guests,) and in fact IIRC the old record was ~600 back in 2003. Did we have a bot-swarm attack?

    I just looked at the number of pages with members on and multiplyed by 30.

    Hm, hadn't noticed that. It must have been bots - can't imagine 1800 users just all showed up at once - but normally if the bots attack en masse its for a reason and there's some mischief to follow. Very strange.
