Black Jay's Sheep fix

    I finally discovered what was wrong with Black Jay's Sheep quest.

    The quest actually does have an ending, there was just one error in two scripts that was preventing it from triggering.

    You just need to add two files.

    The 00021teamster son.dlg file goes in your dlg folder

    the py00021teamster son.py file goes in your scr folder

    I just added this to my 1.5 MOD but if you already down loaded that then just add these two files and you can now find out who killed Black Jay's Sheep.

    Trust me it takes a long time to resolve but it does resolve now.

    Lyv, I already spoke with black jay and with the "poisoner" (terrible memory for names) BEFORE installing the ne e files. Now he is in his house and the conversation is at a dead end, since my PC can't - as usual - get any more informations about who ordered him to poison the lambs. Now the question is: installing those new files will allow me to bring on the mission or should I start over?

    Ditto! Its one of the only quests i have done so far... what should i do?

    I wondered about this one. Fortunately I am not so far along that starting over to see how this quest ends is out of the question. I, too, would like to know if it is possible to just drop the new files in after you have spoken to the party involved and reached the "I'm not telling" point.

    With a new party, this is still the message you get. I'd imagine when Livonya talks of it taking a long time to resolve, that would mean a party may benefit from going away and doing other things for some time before returning to this one.

    Yes, exactly.

    Time triggers events.

    I do not know if the fix will work for games already in progress. I doubt it. Actually, I highly doubt it.

    The first time you confront the kid who does the poisoning the script was suppossed to trigger a time event, but it didn't. It will now.

    So if you already confronted him then it won't work.

    But for those that are doing new games. This quest does work. It worked just fine in my game. I started a fresh game yesterday and it works.

    But please have patience. Time is needed for these quests to play themselves out.

    I used to have to...

    ...exit the house after talking to Jay (or enter if he was outside), and pass time to get things to move along before speaking with him again. But I never had it work incorrectly otherwise. The part that bugged me was you could never get resolution with his Pa the teamster. Sure, you could tell him about it, but there was no real belief on his part or finality with the neighbors in the trading post next door.

    Keep talking to his father and checking in on him... sooner or later something will happen.

    Once that happens then you have to play a long time until you meet those responsible.

    It worked in my game, so it should be working as advertised now.
