So I was contemplating picking up either the new Deus Ex (love the original) or Withcer2 (love the first one) and found myself fondly remembering TOEE. I last played TOEE a few years ago. Did some searching and lo, CO8 is still active and in development! Think I'll save a few bucks and take this for a spin again! So I did a fresh install and got CO8 6.1NC installed and prepped. Going to try this party: 1/2 Elf male chaotic evil cleric Elf female chaotic neutral sorceress Halfling male chaotic neutral rogue Dwarf male neutral evil fighter left a slot to pick others up. Never really played the evil side of this game so figured I'd give it a whirl to keep it fresh. Just spent over an hour putting the party together from scratch. Forgot how much fun that was. Anyhow, I'll share my experiences here and I'll be doing some reading come up to speed on the newer version of the CO8 mod. Thanks to the CO8 devs! I'd not bother if this mod pack didn't exist and to find it still active is wild indeed!
Welcome back to the game... Just know that with the mod you can have parties with up to 8 PC's and remember that you have to SET THE MAX LEVEL OF YOUR CHARACTERS in the mod starting window. Made that mistake when I first downloaded the mods and ended up having to do the Homlett starting quests again. Not that I mind, slapping Erliter around for three sacks of flour on my Chaotic Evil Half-Orc makes both St. Cuthbert and myself smile every time.
Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't aware of the ability to have eight characters. I set the max to 5 figuring that was it. I also found out by doing some reasing around here that the's an evil cleric NPC in this mod so I'll probably use that character and use a different mix. Luckily all I have done so far is create characters!
Hmm I've encountered an issue. When I leave Homlett and go to the moat house or the bog, my party and all NPCs are not visible. Has anyone seen this? I was careful not to disturb the installation or activation. I have tried to deactivate/reactivate the module. The only thing I did in the console was speedup(). I did change the value in speedup.ini to 3. Any thoughts?
Do you see empty blue circles? Your screen resolution is set too high. See the widescreen sticky thred in this forum for supported resolutions.
Ah OK thanks! I did read the widescreen sticky but didn't connect 'not supported' to 'doesn't work'. Thanks!
