Are there any MMA (aka "ultimate fighting/cage fighting") fans on this board?

Just curious. I love me some UFC and there's a big event tonight - you may have seen commercials about it, they managed to get former pro wrestler/freakshow Brock Lesnar and have been hyping that up.

Anybody?

 

Most definitely! Since KotB most likely won't be available tonight, I'll be watching the UFC event tonight. Brock Lesnar certainly is talking a bit of smack, but I did just find out he was a two time Big 10 wrestling champ. His match w/ Frank Mir should be very interesting...

 

I'm not a huge ultimate fighting fan, but am curious to see how Brock Lesnar goes.

He is a huge man.

 

Let me expand on Lesnar's amateur background. He was a two time Big 10 champ, but he also was a national collegiate champ and national runner up. He definitely has an impressive amateur background. I think he could give some of those greater temple Bugbears a run for their money.

Of course, my opinion could change after I see him fight tonight.

Mir found Achilles's heel, so to speak.

It was a classic in that sense.

However Lesnar was impressive in defeat, particularly for someone so inexperienced in the sport

The main event between Nogueira and Sylvia (found here)was more interesting to me, but I enjoyed both main events.
