Ok, I have to assume that this is some sort of bug/glitch... You can use suggestion to charm a npc into your party, if you then kill them(note, u must do this with a single blow, or they will leave the party due to hostile action) they appear as dead on your party bar. If you then raise dead them, they return to life, in your party, without the sugestion spell affecing them anymore. I have tried this with a varity of MOBs.. some glitches I have noticed.. if you do it to terjon, it will work, but when you leave the church of St Cuthbert he goes "Invis" and not a normal invis.. the bad, buggy kind of invis that keeps you from interacting with him in any way... Including having him fight, or asking him to leave.. killing him out of party, etc... Works fine for otis.... Say he leaves your party(as he likes to do, on return to Nulb) Just Suggest him, kill him, and res.. and Voila! back as a full time team player... Only Npc's that this doesnt seem to work with Are Iuz, St. Cuthbert, and, I assume Zugg.. (I had to use consol commands (read cheats) to get powerful enough to over come Iuz/Cuthberts SR/ Super high saves to do this) The reason that it wont work on them is that you cant raise them from the dead. I was curious as to if I am the sole discoverer of this oddity. But it certainly makes things interesting carting around people that were never ment to join you, and leveling them as full fleged party members..
Well, what can I say... Dimension Dave (or whetever the heck he was calling himself at the time) posted this idea, but i doubt anyone else took him seriously. Because he was an idiot and was rightly banned soon after. So hey, u can have the credit
I knew about that, I think someone other than crack head dave mentioned it at some stage. I've used it on a few monsters but then got the "I'm not talking to you with that evil thing in your group". Never used it for "human" PCs tho
I've known about this for almost a year now. A thread about this was started a week ago as well. I've made a little testing tool called the Wand of Enslavement that does the same thing without having to kill and raise the target, and with no saving throw or spell resistance check. Just use the wand on anything in the game and presto, it's in your party. It's handy if you want to see if some bonus or skill or inventory item on an NPC is doing what you want it to. Btw, this tool is not available to the general public. At this time it is only available to modders and testers. Aren't I a tease.
Lol, well silly me, I thought id found something new*snicker* Allwell still fun tho.=) Anyone have a clue why it sometimes causes "Invisible man" syndrome?
I feel that resurrecting them as permanent NPCs is a glitch that should be fixed, but otherwise the Suggestion spell should stay as is. Its a prefectly logical and explainable ability, in character for Evil characters, a lot of fun, and if you build a character to be able to "maintain" a suggestion hold on an NPC (through repeated castings after each rest and the use of Extend Spell Metamagic), go for it. If you are interested, I've made a list of most of the NPCs in the game and their attributes, alignment, diety and bonus feats. I didn't encounter your Terjon bug. I took Terjon out to Delko Grove before killing him, and I was able to enter the church to kill Calmert and leave just fine. The Invisible Man bug I think occurs when the game directs an NPC to leave a scene but they can't because they're in the party or charmed. I haven't been able to find a fix for this. Strangely, you can bypass this with some NPCs (The Knight who delivers Prince Thrommel's booty) but not others (Countess J). Cheers, Dai
