Announcing Project TemplePlus

Greetings!

We are pleased to officially announce project TemplePlus, a code hooking and extension project for ToEE.

TemplePlus is an open-source C++ project hosted at GitHub. It builds upon the knowledge gained during the latest round of expeditions inside the ToEE DLL, using it to expose and alter data and functions within during runtime. Aside from various bug-fixes, this allows us to do things like expand ToEE's Python scripting system, redirect calls to our own rewritten functions, and so on.

We are very excited by the opportunities this opens up for gameplay and modding, and look forward to working with the community to shape the future of ToEE. TemplePlus, being an extension instead of a total engine rewrite, has the benefit of being immediately useful to modders. It is furthermore an open-source project - everyone can contribute, whether it be code or documentation on the on-site Wiki.

We aim to deploy TemplePlus in the next release of the Circle of Eight mod, after a round of public beta testing - stay tuned for more!
