    Especially Meleny, for some bizarre reason.
    Perhaps someone forgot an 'equals' sign - you need both ;)

    Romeo and Belsornig (was A possible new one)

    Well, actually I do have purdy Meleny with me, but keeping her or Zaxis in another room does no help at all. And do not speak of leaving my beloved spouse alone in this horrible place!
    Anyone that enters the room may walk all the eastern half undisturbed. He/she can also go into the temple proper (the snakes do not mind) and in the private chambers.
    But as soon as he/she does close toward Belsornig combat begins. Very strange. The terminus seems to be the line just before the round pedestal. Incidentally this means that the combat begins more or less in the moment the Juggernaut is spotted.
    May it be the accursed thing the cause of my problems? I haven't been able to find its script in order to examine it...
    Surely (oh, well, if surety exist, of course) it's not Belsornig, for I can speak with him, if I get near unspotted...
    For the moment I bypassed the problem by approaching while invisible (clerics of Olidammara are fun ; ) but "We can't keep meeting like that!"

    Snafu!

    I restarted again and got to 5th level. Went to do the Imeryd's Run quest and got that nifty little "childrens' toy" I decided to go after the giant in Emredy Meadows and threw out the "toy". The lamia was meant to draw the bear off so I could concentrate on the giant.
    The giant went after the lamia and she/it charmed the giant. I now have the giant in tow and cannot get the charm off him so that I can complete the "Masterwork Items" quest. I consoled in a scroll of dispel magic and a scroll of break enchantment. Neither one broke the charm.
    I took him into the tower with the brigands and he survived no problem even after a fireball landed in the middle of us. Took him into the earth temple to get him into a couple more fights. He couldn't fit through the doors during combat so he stayed outside the room until combat was finished then of course he could walk through the doors normally.

    Situation Normal All F_cked Up!

    I think you can kill him with the console...

    Select the giant; open the console; type "die" (with no quotes). See what happens. Or, next time you get into a fight, try a little "friendly fire".

    Open the console and type...
    give 12602
    hit return, and the head will be in your inventory, or you could just try killing the giant yourself?

    Take the giant to Jaroo and have him remove spell permanency on the giant.

    Of course, this will instantly precipitate combat, but with Jaroo and his bears to help the giant should go down. Jaroo might attack your party too, though.

    @RougeTrader: I find if I leave my party outside the room and just take my party leader in (while wearing water temple robes of course), I can talk to Belsornig without combat starting. I do not know if alignment effects this. My party leader has usually been Chaotic Good.

    Tried killing the giant.

    I've tried the friendly fire trick but when I killed the giant it wouldn't let me loot the body. The giant stands at 34 out of 101 hit points after our initial fight with him so I had figured "break the spell and be ready to fight again." No dice!
    I've noted all the suggestions and will try to deal with the situation as suggested. I learned how to use the console to raise stats and someone sent me a list of codes for items. I'm still a bit shakey on the full use of the console and the commands but I'm learning.
    Thanks to all.

    Outta curiosity have you tried taking him (the giant) in to battles and getting him killed by the MoBs and then looting his head? Figured if it works might as well make use of the big bastard if you can. just never heal him.

    This sucks

    Typed in the code "die" as Lord Spike suggested and even after I centered it on the giant my elf fighter died not the friggin giant.
    Restarted yet again with a new variable in the party. Still 7 members (2 elves: a fighter and a cleric, a half elven fighter(archer), four humans: barbarian, fighter(dwarven waraxe specialist), rogue, and wizard.) the half elven fighter used to be a human archer specialist.
    I know better than to use the lamia against the giant next time.

    Macer: I tried getting the giant killed in various wandering battles but found little that could challenge him. I kept running into goblins, pirates, and lizardmen. Where are my 4 troll encounters when I need them j/k. As noted elsewhere I tried taking him into a couple of rooms in the temple but for some reason during combat he couldn't fit through the doors and kept skipping his turns. After the fights were over he was able to walk through doors normally.

    Not a matter anymore. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

    I used terrain and gang tactics and a lot of healing magic&potions to just kill him. I admit I got pretty damn lucky, as I was down to last character standing and scored a crit with my final blow(only had 1-2 hp left), but down he went. Probably easier to cheat, just less satsifying I think.

    In my pre-Co8 games I was used to speak with Mr.B even when nobody else wanted to do it. And with the same neutral-good aligment, even with a Paladin in the party!
    Leaving all my party out of the door (all the way to the Air Temple foyer, actually) was exactly wath I was doing [scratches his head]. I do not think the fact that both the people (one at time) that approached waterhead were Olidammara followers (CG and NN)... I'm pretty convinced I already had Olidammara followers in the room with no problems.
    Other Water Temple folowers are much more friendly: the deserters desert normally, the hidden gargoyles in the easter side of the very same room still pretend they are just bas-reliefs on the wall, the Water Snakes, well, snake placidly on the floor.
    I'm still convinced it's all the Juggernaut fault. I don't know... There's an old thread about it (Water temple auto-initiating combat), but it very soon turned about masterwork flails.
    I'm pretty sure it's the fact the thing is already awake when I enter the room.
    Now I istalled Kalshanes fixes to protos.tab (BTW, C-blues mobs package is complete, isn't it?), I think I'll try to see is somethingm new happens, altough I don't think tha problem may be solved by protos...

    P.S.
    Ah, and it seems High Temple guards do not speak to me because they have no .dlg files, not because of my reputation.

    The Juggernaut is flagged kill_on_site, with no script to do anything otherwise.

    The question is, when does it appear? The one you see at first is just a statue (afaik from scanning the files breifly) or is meant to be. I would suggest the problem is from when it first gets spawned (it shouldn't just be there all the time!)

    Ted is on the case! <cue the trumpets>

    EDIT: Ok, here is the code: its from Belsornig, when he enters combat he spawns the juggernaut.
    Code:
    def san_enter_combat( attachee, triggerer ):
    	game.global_flags[345] = 0
    	if (not attachee.has_wielded(4071) or not attachee.has_wielded(4124)):
    		attachee.item_wield_best_all()
    	for statue in game.obj_list_vicinity( attachee.location, OLC_SCENERY ):
    		if (statue.name == 1618):
    			loc = statue.location
    			rot = statue.rotation
    			statue.destroy()
    			juggernaut = game.obj_create( 14244, loc )
    			juggernaut.rotation = rot
    			game.particles( "ef-MinoCloud", juggernaut )
    			return RUN_DEFAULT
    	return RUN_DEFAULT
    I can't see the problem - but obviously there is one, cause u shouldn't just wander in and see a juggernaut! Testing time.

    Yes, as I already tried to express in my prseudo-english, the Juggernaut is in his non-statue mode when I enter the room.
    If it's flagged kill-on-sight, well, no surprise it tries to do its job ;)
    I also take that there's no way to put it in its statue mode, so, to hell... Quite literally.
    It means I will have to speak to Temple Priests while invisible (heck, I tought it was supposed to be impossible... But Belsornig is no guy to be taken on surprise).
    Matter "resolved", my only regret is that I did not post it in one of the meny Juggernaut threads.

    Thanks.

    P.S.
    Livonya says she's on the matter and she understands why it spawns multiple times, maybe she also knows more about why it unstatue before it should...

    Ummm, I dunno how to respond to that last comment... anyone?

    My investigations reveal the problem is more likely that u have pissed Belsornig off, putting him in combat mode (and thus spawning the juggernaut, an irrelevant symptom not the problem). B himself goes KOS if you kill Narrolem or Melorran (I forget who they r). Have you done that?

    @The Rogue Trader; Livonya made huge changes to the Co8 game, but actually documented very little, Her 2.0 mod was allegedly almost finished about 9 months ago, and has yet to be released, even in an incomplete state, all attempts to make contact with her since has (so far at least) failed. I wouldn't hold your breath for her coming back to Co8 to explain about the Juggernaught spawning issue if I were you.

    @Shiningted; Narrolem and Melorran are the two other clerics in the water temple, they have dialogues, (but i've never seen them say anything in game).
