I know I'm the only guy working on this right now, but I thought I'd post it in case anybody else takes up the torch before the next release . . .

All is not well in snd_spells land. There are a number of spell numbers duplicated in there, plus many are jumbled all over the place out of sequence. I've fixed this, and I expect these fixes will be integrated into the next release, but in the meantime what this boils down to is that spell number you thought was available for your new spell may not be, at least as applies to sounds.

If you have any questions, post them here and I should be able to help you.

My god, I can hardly imagine what the atmosphere must have been like at Troika in the days before this game was to be delivered.

something liike this: "No more extensions? But they wanted 3.5", "What could very well be the most complicated game system on the planet and Atari wants it now?""But I wanted to rework the spell effects....","The voice actors are here...","But we still have prestige classes to do.","It is Okay that you can actually finish the game in under 6 hours, it's an easter egg.", "What do you mean Elmo's still drunk, give him some coffee.", "Darley still comes up as a Demon even thugh she is the most beautiful woman in the game, What should I do....?","CTD's? we'll address those in the patches..." and so on and so on.....

In the end, it is obvious that Troika was not given enough time. Many other games have been delayed in order to "get it right" but this game was rushed out the door as if it were a throw off instead of being a major demonstration of the enhancements made in 3.5. . Simply put, they were not given enough time. All that being said, they still did a heck of a job. And I believe that if they had never been forced (or chose) to partner with atari, they would still be in business.

OOoohhh, Dangerous turf, here, Darmagon...ranks right up there with Alignment, Sexuality, & National Origin. The dispute between the fans of Atari & Troika as to 'who's to blame' is epic. I'll be sitting this one out...

i vote for bringing the national orgin as well as the "coke or pepsi" and "pop or soda" disputes into this thread! while we're at it, fascism vs. organised religion, anyone?

the first one to say the national socialist abbreviation gets a banana!

    [edit]
also, who's to blame for Origin's downfall, Richard Garriott or EA???

and whatever happened to Marvel Comics, and why does Image suck too?

Re: Fizzy Lifting Drinks...no need to debate this one.

It is a well known fact that Willy Wonka's factory is in Christchurch, after all.

It was Elizabeth and Abraham, I don't think there is any serious question there.
