    Hi,

I loaded the game from scratch (windows xp). Then loaded patch1 patch2, the net 2.0 thingy. then the new 5.9 mod. I used tfe-x to try to load 5.9 but it did not detect the new module. It only shows the classic version. How do you get the other modules to show up for the tfe-x thing?

    Hi Zark

Just checking, but do you have the new module unpacked in the same folder as TOEE?

Yes thats what I thought I needed to do. The Tfe-x is version 2.2. does that make a difference?

Sorry, I am not tech savvy with the front end, Just thought I would ask the obvious question just in case. You might want to do a search for the newest version of the front end and then try to activate the module again. You might also try to get the no cd crack for TOEE with patch 2. That might help for the recognition of 5.9. Hope this may be of some help.

Did you extract the module contents into the ToEE root directory, as per the installation instructions? You can't just put the RAR archive in there.

Yes, using winzip I extracted the contents of 5.9 into the temple of elemental evil directory. Tfe-x does not seem to recognize the 5.9 mod. I know that I need to not have anything else running when the tfe-x is finding and getting the module. After it finishes It says to close the application and reload in ordoer to activate it. Strange.

Ok, I uninstalled everything. I reloaded TOEE, patch 1, patch 2, already have net 2 (or whatever its called, and loaded module 5.9. There is no actuall TFE-x application to run from here. There is just the repair. Should I use an old one I have (2.2) and put it in atari/temple of elemental evil root directory and run it from there?

    Thanks for listening.

Do you have winRAR/winzip set to extract and replace files? There's no good reason for the TFE-X application not to be in your root directory if you extracted the archive properly. Do you see a file called 'Circle of Eight Modpack 5.9.0 BETA.tfm' in there? Or text and .jpeg files of the same name?

Perhaps it was said clearly and I missed it, but you need to move the CONTENTS of the file after it is unzipped, not the file itself.

I have noticed that there is a file named "Circle of Eight Modpack 5.9.0 NC BETA" ( a jpeg), and a folder named "docs_Co8 5.9.0 NC". There is no text file of this name or a tfm file. I tried several times to extract these files but no luck. Can you guys send these files separately to me. Or is there a better extraction program than winzip that is free?

    Thanks for taking the time.

Hey Zark, try this link http://www.7-zip.org/ fro a new program to unzip files. I have used it and it is free. Also, just to be absoulutely sure, you might want to unzip the downloaded file directly in your toee folder so that all the needed files and module are already where they need to be and you will not need to cut and paste anything.

Hope these are of some help. i

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I managed to properly download the 5.9 mod without problems. My new problem is the authentication error where the Cd runs out of time to be accessed. I have heard there is a no-cd crack ver 2. I have tried google but no luck. Is there some other way to get the game to work?

    thanks again everyone.

Zark, I am sending you a private message with a link to the file you need. The mods do not want it posted for liability reasons. Hope it solves your trouble.
