I have used the Reincarnation spell many times when I have had a Druid in my party, and I have asked Jaroo to cast Reincarnation many times on party members who have died. Always the result is the same, the target of the spell comes alive looking the same as before death, the same body before and after reincarnation. Yet Jaroo says that the Reincarnation spell might cause the target to come back in a different form. So what is going on here ? Am I missing something regarding the Reincarnation spell and its effects, or did Troika forget to complete the spell and left it as a sort of Raise Dead spell (in effect), half completed, as a result ? Reincarnation should cause a roll on a probability table with the chance of the reincarnated being coming back in altered form. At least this is how I remember things when I played the PnP game many years ago. So what's going on with the TOEE version of the Reincarnation spell ? Is this another bug to be fixed ? Or is it something else ?
I believe Troika either had problems implementing the random change to the character or decided it was an unneccessary complication. If someone can figure out how to do it, it would be cool, though.
It could probably be done, but there would be some problems with implimenting the spell as per the Players Handbook. It would be impossible to raise someone as a Bird, flying is really not in the engine. I think the difficulty of birds led to the decision of having familiars as inventory items. If someone doesn't tackle this soon, I will look into it in May... I am a little busy until then. -Firestrand
Or stirges? I also believe there are dire bats in the game but the animation is so small you can't see it!
Don't the harpies fly when they come up. I know the one in the top corner flys up to the 1st or lead party member and I think the others fly up to engage when the encounter starts. Is this considered "flying" or no?
yes, but still the problem is that they can't move vertically, like a would smart creature would do. "ah, but you have Scather? ok, I fly high so that you can't hit me but with bows and magic, while I throw rocks to you or use some rudimental ranged weapon that I have" Anyway, Dire Bats have the same stige bird animation. I'm just curious, but how hard is flying animation? My ww2 games have divebombers, B-17's, etc, so is the animation not compatible or capable? I guess there can't be a dragon because the code doesn't support it. I have no clue here. What's up Doc?
When I was playing with the Ice lizard/white dragon Idea, I could enlarge the animation (to the size of a dragon) but the animation would appear too high off the the ground, which leads me to the conclusion that the engine can't handle the verticle axis, the animation is designed to appear to fly but the animation starts on the ground.
