Alternative to ToEE play disc? I've gone through the detailed installation instructions quite a few times, reinstalling as well, but I can't figure out if I've done anything wrong. So I start KotB for the first time, and when I start a new game, I'll create characters of my own. When I click Begin Adventuring though, the opening vignette for my alignment starts. For example, I've tried Neutral Good. The first few times, it would open and you know, the short cutscene would play about being in Mithrik and hearing a woman scream and so on. So I move my party over into the alleyway and battle the thief. Oddly, he's named Merchant, and when I defeat him, I'm able to loot him, but nothing else happens. I can't find the woman's brooch and thus can't advance on to the next map. Am I supposed to open out on to the normal vignettes? Or is there meant to be a shopmap or something? I'm not sure if this is a bug, or I'm missing some files. Is any more information needed? I haven't included any techinal specs.
Well, you've done something wrong, because you are not meant to start in the ToEE vignettes - you are meant to start at the old Caravan shop map. You have a hybrid game. Possible reasons: 1) You didn't allow the mod to fully activate. 2) You installed a crack after activation. May I suggest when you get it going, you re-roll your characters, so you get to access the new skills.
I'll try once more and see how it goes. Thanks EDIT: Okay, so my ToEE play cd isn't recognised when I start KotB. Making an image doesn't seem to work either. I still have my install cd, is there any way for me to start KotB without a play cd?
Could someone who uses the crack answer? I honestly have never used it. My suggestion would be, though, to install the crack, then reactivate KotB.
After changing my antivirus software and clean installing, it now works. And I'm happy. Thanks all for your help :]
The order for installation with a no-cd exe 1.Game 2.Patch2 3.No-CD exe 4.Kotb 5.Activate module 6.Activate Add-on 1.11 7.Play your little heart out
