A Blue Circle of Death (BCOD) is where you have an NPC leave the party but their blue circle stays in the party and you can't get rid of it or interact with it. Please report any instances where you encounter BCODs here. State: 1. Which NPC 2. Where it occurs 3. Any other pertinent info, like if the NPC was dead or unconscious Thanks.
Hi Gaear I got it taking Jaer (the weaver in the Earth Node) to Hommlet. I had cleaned out the Earth node (I killed everything except Sargen before talking to Jaer: For what it's worth I didn't talk to Sargen). I rescued Jaer, and the group exited the Temple out the secret tunnel that leads to the ruined farmhouse. I saved at that point. When I returned to Nulb, Jaer left the party completely (no BCOD). I then reloaded the save and went to Hommlet where I had the BCOD. In both cases Jaer was Alive and Conscious on arrival. Also in both cases there were either no Random Encounters or they were avoided. EDIT: I just did some further testing. I only got the BCOD with Jaer at The Inn and the Watchtower. When I went from the Tunnel Exit to the Temple of Saint Cuthbert (avoiding a pair of Owlbears along the way) I did not get the BCOD. EDIT 2: I did even more testing (trust me you don't want to know how much) and came to the following conclusions: Jaer will always get the BCOD if you go to the Inn or Burne's Tower. It doesn't matter where he is in your thumbnail order at the bottom of the screen, whether or not you have a Random Encounter along the way (and whether or not you avoid the R.E.s along the way), or even stopping by the Moathouse before your "final destination". Jaer will never get a BCOD if you go to either Nulb or the Temple of Saint Cuthbert. The Royal Canadian
Hi Gaear I had the same results with Sargen that I had with Jaer (BCOD when going to either the Inn or Burne's Tower, no BCOD when going to Nulb or the Temple of Saint Cuthbert). In all cases Sargen arrived conscious and unhurt. I even tried to see if departing the Temple from the "Front Door" area (the map you arrive at the very first time you area at the temple) made any difference. It doesn't. The Royal Canadian
