Hey all, I'm using 5.7.2 BETA (the hotfix) and I'm having problems understanding what Brother Smythe wants me to do to get his chest open. Really what I'm trying to do is to get him to sell me masterwork gear. Right now, when I ask him to sell me mw gear he tells me something along the lines of 'I don't need the really good stuff. Toy weapons are good enough for me.' I'm assuming he wants me to open his locked chest, but Knock and lockpicking aren't working, so what am I supposed to do? I tried a search of the web and the Co8 forums on Brother Smythe and his quest but I couldn't find a walkthrough. Perhaps a comprehensive walkthrough .doc for all Co8 ToEE mods would be helpful? If there is one, I'm not seeing a sticky for it anywhere on the site. Thanks in advance for any replies.
Picking the lock works, but I have had the same issue regarding Smyth and the masterwork items. He won't give my lawful good party the giant kill quest (even they they are also nature friends thanks to donations to the Druid.) Any advice on how to get the giant kill quest initiated?
Kill the giant anyway and get the head. The quest comes up later in the game. Keep checking every time you sell loot to him.
