I had Spugnoir leave my party and attack me along with the Hommlett defenders. I'm not sure if that was your intention, or part of his vanilla reactions

Must be vanilla reactions. Glad you enjoyed something I didn't plan on haha.

Also, the door at the end of the quarry had a purpose. Initially you were to fight the in the quarry, and then fight your way through the dwarf kingdom (if you wanted) but I was pressed for time.

There is one more battle if you want to reload and be "good". Give the skull to Burne and then you save Hommlet from invaders.

The thing with Spugnoir worked out in an interesting way, then. Maybe you could expand on that - imho, there should be an option to negotiate at a cost - a diplomatic character could offer money, while a strong-willed leader could coerce the NPC to do what they want at the cost of, say, the NPC losing a point or two of Will saving throw, etc, etc. Can make it different for different NPCs.

EDIT: Tried the "good man" scenario... That had some weird problems. When I got to the face-off, Burne refused to speak as he's supposed to, so I had to force-start the battle to get any results. They went down real easy though.

I'm not sure what the deal with the road-scouting stuff was, it's just empty for me.

Is WoGS compatible with 5.6.1? I'd like to give it another try.

I never got it to work in 5.5.0. I would bring the skull to Berne, get the conversation, head torwards Nulb and hit the random encounter map. The map would be empty and the game would freeze when I tried to use the world map to leave.

I tried several times. I even reinstalled the game.

^ Just go with the Evil route, it works fine and imho the battle is more challenging. I haven't tried it with 5.6.1 though, but would your party be too weak for this addon w/o all the extra content, anyway?

When you give the skull to Burne he should tell you to scout the road, and you can say "I am ready now" or "I think I will hold onto this a bit longer (giving you time to prepare)" (If I remember correctly. If you choose the first option you will be immediatly teleported to the road fight (you do not need to travel the world map).

If you choose the other option, then you need to go speak to Burne again about the skull and then he will teleport you to the road. Not sure why it doesn't work for some people. I know that Sitra used some of my flags for his mod, did you have any of his mods installed?

    Nope.

So no matter what, the mod must be triggered by Berne teleporting you. Heading for Nulb is not necessary.

I'll try it in 5.6.1. Then rebuild 5.5.0 and see what happens. I'll try it without the add-ons first.

    Thanks. ;)

Don't try it with 5.6.1 - it was built for 5.5.

I could not continue with the mod because my party did not have enough gold to complete the castle. 13th level and only 30 grand to show for it. The NPC women are wearing the rest of it.

My milage definitely varied...I finished with in excess of 560k gp when I finally killy Zuggy.

A small annoyance is the feeling of being whisked away after killing the old man on the road. No time to search him for stuff??? But still it is very interesting work, Ranth

There is a way to loot him (and he has everything Senshock does); select to do non-lethal damage. Knocking him unconscious doesn't trigger the trip back to hommlet so you can take his loot. finish him with a coup de grace and then the trigger back to hommlet occurs. (just make sure to deselect when you face the hommlet attack).

Glad you enjoyed it. I was about to suggest to sell all of your items to see the castle, but there are two more fights in your future.

Just finished my second run though of this. Awesome, once again. Each fight, starting with the defending Hommlet one to the bandits to the quarry each gives you a level and puts you 1 exp. point away from the next level. So, when you start this add-on, you're looking at 6 levels in the space of 3 fights. Finish defending Hommlet, farm out 1 exp. point to level up again, then the bandits, then farm another 1 exp. point, then the quarry and farm 1 exp. point. I went from 14 to 20 in about a half an hour. It doesn't get much better than that.

Weird has gotta be the greatest spell ever. I love messing with the higher level stuff.

Straight 2-handed fighters have taken a back seat, fighting-wise, to other power gamed builds. My rogue was doing the most damage out of anyone quite easily. With improved 2-weapon fighting and hasted, he caught a troll flat-footed and did over 400 damage, lol. My little dwarven cleric outstripped the warrior when he got Moradin's Soul Hammer. That is the greatest weapon in the game. I could count on about 25-30 damage per hit. I think I just gotta give the fighter a holy weapon and that'll somewhat even it out between him and the cleric. Ain't no way he can touch the rogue. I should give the rogue 2 holy weapons and see that 400+ turn into 500+, lol.

I got unlucky during the quarry and had to reload. The very first round, I ran my wizard out to the side away from the party and had him blow a prismatic spray. I have a love/hate relationship with that spell. It plane shifted Bruenor Battlehammer AND Drizzt Do'urden, along with all of their awesomely awesome equipment. There was no way I was going to stand for that. My new policy is never to use that spell unless it's hitting nothing but grunts. I ain't taking anymore chances.

After that, I went after Zuggtmoy. She lasted 1.3 rounds, just long enough to summon a Glabrezu dog demon. Oddly enough, it was the fighter and cleric mostly that did the lion's share of damage to her and not the rogue.

I think my dream job description would be "Make really tough D&D encounters".

Not surprising, if you ask me. I doubt a rogue could even do much damage at all. Plus, isn't she backstab-resistant?
