It is strictly single player, with no MMO. The other people in the group were supposed to be your NPC's.
Cool video! What does it tell us about the game? For example, is it Ad&D 4.0? I didn't see any of those Dragonboys. One could have been a humanized tiefling (no hooves).
I'll try this game - but to be honest, what I heard is that the character and spell system are pretty simplified compared to DnD, and I don't like simplified character systems or magic with only a few spells that you're going to spam over and over, so... I'm not convinced that this game will be anything else than MassEffect in a fantasy-setting, but we will see.
I'm looking foward to the game. There's not many good fantasy role playing single player games that have come out and this hopes to be one of them. I will give it a good shot and hope for the best because MMORPGs are for the birds. If I wanted to interact with other people on a daily basis and pay cash money to do it, I'd be hip deep in hookers.
The game is not based on D&D rules at all. BioWare created their own rules system. Looking at the wiki page for the game, the spells do look limited at the moment. But they are releasing new info each day and they may announce more spells on the way.
Speak of new content, BioWare made a social site. If you register you can download their character creator for DragonAge. It looks purty. Social Site: http://social.bioware.com/home.php? Video of Character Creation: http://social.bioware.com/wiki/dragonage/index.php/Creation_Creation Update: You can download the character creator without signing up. Here is a link: http://files.bioware.com/dragonage_cc_dl/DragonAgeOriginsCharacterCreator_en.exe You can use your character that you create when you buy the game.
The character creator gives us a spell listing. The schools of spells are: Primal: Nature type spells. Fire, Winter, Rock, Lightning Creation: Heals, Buffs, Defense Spirit: Debuffs, Telekinesis and Mind attacks Entropy: Necromancy Each of the classes has 4 types/lines of spells. So creation has a line for fire, another for winter, another for rock, and another for lightning. Each of these lines/types has 4 spells in it. Therefore, 4 schools of spells, with four lines, with four spells each gives us 64 spells in the game.
As far as it concerns me, necromancy is the only available spells until I master the game. Then experimentation can begin with the weaker types of magic.

THis gane just sounds stupider and stupider the more I learn about it: http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewstory&threadid=103439 Console crap. Bioware sells out. Yuck.
What about that link upsets you? FYI, DragonAge Journeys is not DragonAge. Journeys is the flash based game they are releasing before the game to get more hype. Why is it automatically crap if it is on a console? It is just a smart business move. You spend tens of millions of dollars making a game, you might as well take some time to make it compatible with all gaming systems and recoup production costs from a larger market. Just because it is on a console, how does that make it a lower quality game?
