    Hi

So I have followed the instructions carefully, and re-installed 3 times, and both with and without the 5.6.1 version, I can't get more than 5 party members into my party. I have set the party size for 6, 7 and 8 members, and even thou I can keep pressing the add button, when I start the game, I only got the first 5 characters in my group.

Oh, and when I played this mod along time ago, there was a feature where you where able to buy equipment before the actual game started. Was that feature removed?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

The initial creation menu only shows the first 5 pc's added. When you go to the shopmap any you added will appear and you can equip them. You wont have enough money to equip 8 pc's, 5 is about max. Money is really tight early in the game so be aware of that. Pc's can be added later on from the books in the inn's.
If you're not getting the shopmap then 5.6 is not activated or you have a bad install. You must wait until it says 5.6 is activated successfully before doing anything.

The opening shop (now a brick and mortar building instead of a caravan) is still in the mod. If you're not seeing it when you start a game then something is wrong.

The most likely culprit is your ToEE executable file. You may have a version of the game that includes the temple.dll file in the .exe. temple.dll has been heavily modified by Co8 over the years, and an executable that contains the .dll will override our modded .dll and you thus won't see any of our changes. If this is the case, you'll need to find a replacement executable (aka no-cd crack). We can't link you to one due to copyright infringement issues, but they're available on the net. Be sure to locate and use the crack for patch 2 that is 33 kb in size.

Hmm, it seems like that specific 33kb file won't run... If I try to start the game via TFE-X, it says that there was a fatal error, if I try to run it normally, it says something like windows can't find a path...

Do you have any experience with this sort of problem?

At the risk of sounding obvious, is it in the right folder? It should be in the root folder, next to TFE-X, the data folder, the modules folder etc.

Yes, I replaced the normal TOEE.exe with a fixed .exe... I have no problems with the installation, but and game simply won't start with the fixed .exe... I have even tried re-installing, as well as trying 2 fixed .exe files from 2 diffrent sites, but none of them works...

Should anyone out there have a link to a fixed .exe that should work, maybe they could PM or E-mail me the link, is that against the rules?

Did your anti-virus eat the 33kb .exe? I have to disable my AV every time I want to run the game, or it will quarantine the file.

    Nope, it still just says

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

Right-click and 'run as administrator', perhaps?

Running as admininstator does not help, any with the anti-virus turned off, and the "Protect my computer against..." unchecked, I doubt that the problem is with that...

The strange thing is that I can run the game with the patch 3 crack, although it screws up the co8 mod... I hav only installed patch 1 and 2... I am trying to get my hands on another version of the game...

    This is so strange

Thanks for all your help so far, hope we end up solving this

Ohh, and by the way, I run XP (SP2?)

After unistalling my anti-virus, everything works perfectly... Apprently just turning it off wasn't enough!

    Thanks for your help
