I'm not quite sure what you're asking here. Class levels in vanilla top out at 10, since that's the overall level cap. You basically just have 10 levels to spread amongst classes however you like. In the raised level cap mods, you get up to 20 levels. Either way, the level cap counts against all of your class levels added together (lv1Rouge/lv9Wiz is maxed out and cannot level again under the lv10 cap).

I use the patch 3 because it supposedly fixes stuff and because the 2.0 patch is such an anal recall that it's crack is considered a virus by my antivirus system (yes, it's overprotective in this case - but it works flawlessly in killing threats), so I don't use it.

Is the Humple Npc a simple mod that I don't require any Co8th stuff? I want the game to be unchanged as possible. Beating a crippled game with bugs, no idea how to play, low leveled and bum-rushing is my SPECIALTY (in this case).

Well, could be, but with my wizard it's crippled like I said. I hope the Co8 mod will have it fixed so I can enjoy the game all over again soon after I beat it.

    Eh? :errf:

Now, exactly how is the metamagic not working for you? With Wizards, at least, you need to know the appropriate metamagic feat, go into the spell-memorization screen, click the little blue button left of the spell you want to modify in the spell list, move any metamagic effects you want to apply from the left column to the right, accept, then put the new modified spell (it should show up in the spell list under whatever level it has become due to the metamagic) into your memorized spells like normal.

For a 4th level spell, I like Spike Stone (is that the name?), it does have a horrid sound effect, but I like the area control like web or entangle with the multi-round damage potential. in a big multi enemy fight, like the orc cave, I like to cut down on everyone bum rushing me with an area control spell, then lay on the area effect damage spells like fireball or ice storm.

For your fire power wizard or sorcerer, Maximize Spell is the best meta magic feat. Yes, they are 3 levels higher, but sometimes you need to do a lot of damage to a lot of monsters, there is nothing like a maximized fireball!

I'm playing without the Co8 mod:

The metamagic thing works for lower spells that appear in the first screen (without scrolling down to higher lvl spells, if you can imagine that).
When I scroll with the bar down and click on any spell's blue orb - it simply just picks the same spells from the un-scrolled list. Do you understand now? It just doesn't work for the other spells that are higher. It's a bug.

Anyway, I'm doing fine without ANY enhancements. My party is now like 8-10lvl chars so:

    - I've killed EVERYONE on Temple levels 1-2.
    - I am on lvl 3.
    - I've killed every high priest of the Elements (Fire, Air, Earth, Water - double-crossing 3).
    - I found the sword Fragarach from Thrommel and made him join up - then killed him for it. I should go back to town to get the quest for it (I know the sword is good, but I'm just questing here.

What do I do now? Should I proceed killing everyone in lvl 3 and 4? I know I could've just taken the boost to go to lvl 4 - take the Hedrack quest and then... smth. lol

Tell me - can I just approach Hedrack and talk to him or smth to still get the quest he needs?

    EDIT EDIT EDIT:

Should I sell Fragarach? I mean, I'm lawful evil and I don't get squat for destroying it, plus the bonuses it gives are not for LE, so... I could get like 60K gold for it. I think it's worth it.

Ok, so I had Scorpp in my crew and killed off everything I could enter in lvl3. I chose to be evil under the Temple.
Victory is mine. I beat the game.

The only reason why there are no good level 4 spells is that there is an overpowered level 3 spell called Fireball. I find that it is more beneficial to use Empowered Fireballs at level 4 or Maximised Magic Missiles than anything at level 4. I took Ice Storm only so that I can craft weapons with Frost.

Anyway, I love this game, too. I think it's the best D&D game made for the computer. I like the fact that it is turn based, just like D&D. I've completed this game several times and still enjoy playing it from time to time.

Ah, but the cool thing about Ice Storm is there is no saving throw. Don't forget about Charm Monster.

Being LE and selling Frag just ain't the Lawful thing to do. I did an LE party and felt that there was no reason (or orders) for them to go back to the Temple, so I just ended that campaign. I wonder if Verbomod will have more interaction from the Hextor cleric other than him telling his minions to F*ck off.

I just find that Fireball deals more damage on average and affects more targets than Ice Storm. At higher levels, Fireball deal more damage than Ice Storm even if you do make the save. I only use Ice Storm on fire creatures or if I run out of Fireballs. Even if there are creatures with Evasion, chances are there are only one or two while the other 10 guys do not have Evasion.

Charm Monster is not bad, but I prefer area attack spells. Confusion is good for taking multiple targets out of action for a while.

Don't forget the usefulness of Ice Storm against anything Firebased- like 1/4 of the Temple is-- well almost 1/4.

My favorite spell is charm monster, even if they never attack, you can put them way out in front of your party to draw your enemy's fire.

But if you don't care for it, you can always place lower level spells into higher level slots, so fill your 4th level slots with fireball if you like.
